Here's why we're better than the USA on health care: we know how to deal with the prescription drug companies who profit at the expense of our health.

Now it may only be Viagra, but we do have cheap generics for other drugs that the Americans are literally dying to get their hands on. I say we charge them a 10X duty to export it, as we don't need to limit our own supply or increase the prices due to demand from down south.

Once I learned about the details of the case, the most surprising thing about it was that the same lawsuit had been rejected in several other countries, including the States. Pfizer clearly tried to use the patent system to protect their product without actually describing what their product was. Our Supreme Court definitely made the right decision here as the law is quite clear - if they knew what the active compound was at the time of filing they most certainly have to disclose it. Why this had to go all the way to the Supreme Court for the correct decision or why other countries seemed to favour Pfizer is beyond me. I'm not actually anti-big pharma but this was an underhanded attempt to have their cake and eat it too that gives the whole industry a bad name.
