Hello YVR PERBites, I'm asking for your suggestions.

Next month I have a 7 hour layover on a Friday, from 4-11pm. I'm flying overseas, but my checked bags will remain with the airlines so I hope that buys me extra time before I have to get back to the airport. I was hoping to hop on the Skytrain to an incall in Richmond or to Yaletown/DT (anywhere not too far, given it'll be during peak traffic).

What are your suggestions? Incall, Micro, AMP? Since I'm in metro-Van, I was thinking asian, but I'm pretty open. Preference for sub-30s, relatively fit, friendly service, 45-60 min (given the time constraint).

Is 4-5 hours enough time? What would you do?

Thanks for any info. I'll continue to scour the forums in the meantime.

4-5 hours is enough time if *everything* went perfectly. 90 minute commute back and forth (Skytrain and Uber). 1 hour booked session.
Personally, I wouldn't do it because travel has made me paranoid in terms of timing, but your experience might be better than mine.

Thanks.
Normally I'd just go to one of the airport lounges and hang out, but I'm flying to SEA, to some of the best hobbying locations in the world. Unfortunately, I'll be with some straight-laced coworkers the whole time with a packed itinerary. It'll be like going to some of the best restaurants in the world and not having a taste of anything. If I don't get this out of my system before then, I'll go crazy.

Man, I really gotta get a conversion sprinter
Okay, I looked it up, $40 a day to park in the YVR parkade. That’s 1/10 the price of any decent hotel and 1/5 the cost of any incall. You may be on to something Charlee (of course there is the cost of the van …. 🤷🏽‍♂️).

Maybe narrow it down for us: are you looking for the MP experience or an incall?

An incall will be a more curated experience but may be more of a hassle with deposits and referrals depending on who you book with. An MP would be the simplest as you would just drop in and pick your lady.

I wouldn’t suggest venturing outside of Richmond for logistical reasons. As VanPerb says 90 min getting there plus 90 min back (about an hour on the Skytrain to get downtown, plus 30 Lyft/walking/getting-lost time) is about right. That’s why I would stick with Richmond as the transit time would be cut to 45 min each way giving you more of a cushion.

Also, telling us what day of the week you’re here would also help us recommend a person/place.

Thanks for the insight VV. I mentioned in my post that my layover is in Friday from 4-11pm. Not ideal in terms of dealing with traffic.

I'll try narrow it down to Richmond. Isn't Riza's in Richmond? Another comment above mentioned Swan Lake. Any micros or incalls based in Richmond?

Also, are there any options along the Canada line before downtown?

Beggars can't be choosers... given my constraints, I'll have to pick based on travel time and availability, which is why I'm open to all options.

A time saving advantage of AMPs is that you can just walk right in without an appointment and be served usually in a matter of minutes. In the case of incalls the nature of air travel (flight delays etc) makes it difficult to set up an appointment as you really can't set one up until you know for sure when you will be on the ground at YVR. Realistically the earliest that might be is when you're sitting at your departure airport and have a good idea your flight will depart on time. Of course it can take an hour or two to go thru the communication process of first making contact with the SP before going thru the back and forth of setting an appointment time. You may need to communicate with a few before finding one to fit your time frame. In that regard going thru an agency like Asian Fever or Coco is probably best as you can give them a rough time frame and they can see if their multiple options can fit in. There are others who have providers in the Skytrain accessible areas you're thinking of.

Having said that Richmond is an obvious location for AMP spas. The downside is you have to switch Skytrain lines at Bridgeport Station and some of the more known AMPs like Atlantis and Swan Lake are still a good walk from the nearest Skytrain station. Swan is 1 km from Lansdowne. Going towards downtown Vancouver Broadway Spa (606 W.Broadway) is only 200 metres from Broadway-City Hall Station. Sole is 500 metres up on Cambie and Dragon 200 metres farther without need to change trains at Bridgeport. Mansion One is also only 200 metres away but reviews are sketchy. I've called ahead to Broadway Spa from the YVR Skytrain platform to confirm if a specific lady is there and was sitting on a table 30 minutes later. It's probably 50/50 between Richmond options and going to the Broadway-City Hall area.

There are no AMP spas in the immediate Yaletown area that I'm aware but apparently there are some micros or incalls. I've not used any of the Asian micros in that area. I have on occasion used agencies like Asian Fever and Coco downtown. Locations for Asian have been in the area of the Vancouver Public Library. The Coco Yaletown location I went to was a short walk maybe 10 minute walk from Yaletown Station. I've also seen Yaletown Yuko who is very close to the Library and Sovanna Kim who is also a short maybe 10 minute walk from Yaletown Station.

Personally I'd go with the AMP Spa options either in Richmond or near Broadway-City Hall. You should be able to get on Skytrain at YVR and be back to the YVR platform in at most 3 hours.

This is an amazing response! This narrows things down tremendously. Thanks for the valuable insights.

I can tell some of you guys are the types that show up 5hrs early for your flight, lol. Dad life!

It’s <40mins (including walking time) one way from YVR to the end of the line in Vancouver on the Canada line. I do a lot of domestic travel for work, and I can go from sitting in my desk to being through domestic security in under an hour guaranteed, sometimes 50mins. Granted that’s not international, no checked bags, and with trusted traveler.

Annnyway, I know lots of people have different comfort levels with time buffers at the airport. But here’s what I would do, which still gives you plenty of time:

Get on the Canada line to Yaletown Roundhouse (22mins one way from YVR) and walk 5-10mins to one of the Coco Collective incalls. See whoever they have working that night, you won’t be disappointed by any of those wonderful women.
