Yes, you need to go to the cops. I've had to deal with them myself and they've been nothing but totally supportive. I'll pm you the Vice officer's name and number, but she will probably refer you to the domestic violence and criminal harassment department, as that is the department that handles stalking and threats.

In your case, he/she's taken it one step further and knows your address so it's worth reporting. (One reason it's best to have a separate incall.) Make a copy of the email & write a detailed report for the police. You can drop it off at the station, they don't have to come to your place. Matters not that you are an escort.
Do not respond to the email unless it's to inform them you've gone to the police. Do not try to reason with them in any way. You're just feeding their need for attention which will only make matters worse.
Your report will get assigned a case# and an officer but it's doubtful the officer will contact the person even if there is contact info. It will not get forwarded to vice or domestic violence/criminal harassment department unless it becomes very serious. They are overwhelmed with work and only take on the worst cases. If the threats continue, do not respond but contact your officer or call the non-emerg# & give them the case#. Document what happened, forward it to your officer. In your case, they may send an email but if the officer gets no response, that's where it ends. They won't track his IP unless things get very serious.
Change your pictures/name/email/phone#, screen better, move, lie low or get out of the biz. Chances are the person will back off but it's only a matter of time before the next one. Annoying, sometimes scary but ultimately, these people have no balls.
And ultimately, it's up to you to protect yourself as best you can.

Maybe it's my imagination, but based on what you said, it appears that you've seen him before and he's posted information about you on perb.
That being the case, it seems to me, you must know what this guy looks like, and his perb handle if nothing else. This could be valuable information to the authorities, so make sure it's included.

Obviously just a scared a pathetic little puppy getting off on being able to actually scare someone. Bet you he isn't quite so scary in person. I'd call the cops regardless if I were you. Reporting the incident to v.p.d is important so documentation exsists in reference to the situation.
We all must take steps to prevent and diffuse situations that threaten our safety. We have to look out for eachother's well being too.
