I had a provider recently open up to me about her financial stress, particularly concerning the month's rent. While we did meet as planned, it was far from an enjoyable experience. Her words lingered in my mind, and it was clear that her enthusiasm had dwindled compared to the past.

This encounter really made me re-evaluate my involvement in this hobby. Negative energy, no matter where it comes from, can be quite disheartening. I can't help but feel for those who are struggling to make ends meet, even if it's a result of their own actions.

Thanks for reading.

this seems more like an issue with meeting new people in general. Some are gonna have tough lives, and have "negative energy". Regardless of where it happens you need to have a strategy of handling it

Connecting with a women in this hobby is going to happen. Having empathy for her struggles during these difficult economic times is important. She has the same groceries to buy and rent to make. Your participation in this hobby isn’t contributing to her struggles. Actually the opposite imo. If she trusts you enough to share with you her struggles and appreciates your company (economic support), why quit?

I’d say her telling you about the struggles could be a subtle way to get you to return. Her way to ask without a loss of pride.

One way for OP to help, is seeing her more often. If she's a trusted regular, OP could even prepay for a few sessions. I'm sure that'd reduce the "negative energy" from financial hardships.

Even though what she did happens sometimes (she is human, and felt perhaps really at ease with you), I always manage to keep the focus of my discussions with the SWs on the things that revolve around the reason I am paying to see them. In other words, I help the SW to keep the discussion "sexy" / on point with the purpose of my meeting with her. That said, it happens sometimes that SWs talk to me about their sorrows and my way of dealing with that is very simple: I politely listen to what she says and swiftly find a way to tactfully move the discussion to the happy/sexy/dating/teasing nature of why I am paying to hobby with her. But I never indulge in that kind of discussion, not even for 1 second (as an example, a SW I book regularly, therefore one I appreciate a lot, told me recently, while showing me a photo of her son on her cell phone ... "you see this cute little boy, that is my son..that is the reason I am doing this. To feed him and make him happy"...to which I simply replied "He is cute, indeed" and managed, as always, to move politely and with tact to the fun that I came for / am paying for ). Because, obviously, I am not paying for that. The same way, the SW will not pay for someone to discuss his sorrows if she had to pay to have sex with that person. The chances that she would find that (discussing sorrows in such context) to be un-sexy / a turn off ...are as high as the Mount Everest. There is a time to discuss our sorrows, and meeting a SW is not for that. If she is professional, a SW should be able to understand that. This is not about being cold / lacking sensitivity. This is about the right things in the right place (if she wants to see me, outside this hobbying activity, to discuss her sorrows and that I am interested to listen to that, then fine, I will be more than happy to oblige. But I will not allow her to do that on the time that I am paying for hobbying...not the time for that )

really made me re-evaluate my involvement in this hobby
For something as little as this? Then perhaps this hobby was not for you.

The fact that this is even considered a “hobby “ is very misleading. Not all are meant to become “hobbiest” sometimes at a point in life you need an itch scratched , if you’re lucky it will be an amazing encounter, but as said above , life is becoming very hard for many . You need to do your research in a lady if a true fantasy encounter is hoped for . Some men come in and out of this place daily ..some annually. It’s whatever you want it to be .

If you think its hard making ends meat making 260-600 in hr then try working a regular job and making that in days of work. I get its hard and i dont mean to be insensitive but like get real here...rent and mortgage are high for the average person nvm a person who can make a days wage in a hrs visit.

I know everyone's thinking it so i just came to say it. Plus most of us guys who pay these prices are normal people who are paying this above and beyond our bills. Days wage gone in a 30 min visit to the fix.

and before I get attacked, yes I know many SP's pay taxes, but not all of them do.

Increase frequency.. opt for longer sessions.. tip heavily.. hell, bring some groceries.. all that makes sense. Prepay for multiple sessions? How is that possibly good advice in this industry? Have you had good luck with that in the past?

I'd recommend being very careful about pre-paying a provider who is in financial distress. I mean obviously your heart is in the right place, and you are trying to help, but it might not have the best outcome.

I know of a few touring providers who were struggling during covid. Several clients pre-paid for future tours to help them out. The result was that when they resumed touring they owed so much in pre-paid sessions that they could not afford to tour. There ended up being some deferred bookings and some hurt feelings.

My advice if you want to help a provider in financial distress is to simply make it a donation. That takes the financial burden off her trying to pay you back, and you may find she pays you back anyway by going the extra mile in future bookings.
