Have you ever had a SP session during Celebration of Lights?

If anything, I see it as a deterrent from seeing anyone on those nights because of the logistical nightmares of trying to find parking, probably being late and the sheer hell of trying to leave the area afterwards.
Last year the bus from Burrard Skytrain stopped on Robson Street and everybody on the bus had to walk over to English bay. Coming back, the crowd walked all the way back to Burrard Station Skytrain and were lined up around the block. I walked on to Waterfront Station, got all the way to the end of the platform and got a seat all the way home.
I am guessing that the Celebration of Lights is what used to be called the Benson&Hedges Symphony of Fire.I went to that once and man was it ever a zoo just as a pedestrian.We have the same in Calgary every year and it is called Global Fest
and the sweet part is I can see everything except the really low level stuff from the comfort of my balcony.I can even hear the music.No crowds or alcohol bans and no admission fee.No traffic nightmares or masses of pedestrians to deal with.
A number of years back when I hosted a pooner poker game I held it on the night of the grand finale.I also invited Sugar K of "Sugarland" and she attended with one of the gals working there at the time.Gave them the quick tour of my batchelors paradise
and the gal whilst going through the bedroom ran her hand over my bed sheets and said "These are so soft!" to which a replied "not as soft as your skin"....and she spontaneously planted a kiss on me.
Dinner was BBQ that night....tasty AAA New York striploin steaks with baked potatoes fully dressed along with ceasar salad and garlic toast.A fine meal and a fun poker game with surprise guests and watching the fireworks from the balcony.
