In our household we're avoiding cities, not eating out so much, planning our shopping so that we only go to the supermarket once a week, at times when it's less busy. We socialize with a very small group of friends. The dog is getting plenty of walks in the woods, where we encounter few people.

We haven't been hoarding stuff, but we always tend to stock up on supplies when they're on sale, so we've got plenty of toilet paper and other essentials.

We are in the high-risk age bracket, but we're healthy. We expect to eventually be exposed to the virus, and we expect to survive it, but we're in no rush to bring on the experience.

Cancelled TSN/Sportsnet - no desire to pay for viewing some sporting event from the past. Enough of those top 50 plays of the day type shows already. Thank goodness spring is here this week and we can all get outside.

Pretty much the same here. Spending a lot of time at the lake where it's much more secluded. It's early on but the numbers and science Dr Michael Osterholm is predicting is kinda scary.

To save on toilet paper, I’ve been pooping in the shower and stomping the poop down the drain with my feet.

Just came back from a work trip to the States and now have the next two weeks to work from home and self-isolate, so yeah, fair bit of change. Hopefully it settles down soon, but with the idiots down south that may take some time.

Not in my case, but that could change in a hurry now that cases have been confirmed where I live.

My profession requires me to deal with a number of clients who range from early 20's to mid 90's, so I cannot afford to catch something that I may pass on to them. I can deal with some over the internet, but not all, so that has become a bit tricky for me.

Not really. I am a stay at home type myself, but I do like to get out to eat every week or so with friends. It is a bit strange to see very popular restaurants empty though. The traffic,,, or lack thereof... has been very nice.

I'm one of the poor saps being demolished by this stupid virus. My business is shut down, many people out of work, etc etc.

The response to this flu is ridiculous. 30k people die from typhoid fever annually, which is both preventable and curable. How many people die from tobacco each day? Car accidents? Heart problems? Or even just regular old influenza? Yet one particularly aggressive strain of the flu spreads everywhere (as every flu does) and knocks out a few thousand of our most vulnerable and the world shuts down.

Not to undermine the hardship of those affected directly, but the response is disproportionate to say the least. Hate to don the tinfoil hat, but: this reminds me of when the US provided arms that killed roughly 300,000 civilians in Eastern Timor, while the media distracted us with the important details of the president getting a blowjob from one of his interns.

I have not changed my lifestyle but I am controlling myself from making purchases on unnecessary items or eating out at restaurants far too often.

“ The response to this flu is ridiculous.“
ever heard of flattening the curve?
you think every health director in virtually every first world country on this planet is a just a random lunatic, sensationalist, clueless, bandwagoner, or maybe just maybe these global science and health experts actually know a thing or two about that which they are talking about? far too many people willing to risk it all vs controlling it before it is too late.
