The last time I was in Vancouver, this bill have not been passed yet. Now, upon returning to Vancouver, it seems like this c 36 bill has been affecting the hobby a lot. A lot of the girls that I have seen before are also no longer working.

Is it no longer safe to hobby in Vancouver, or is it still safe to see someone that I have seen before.

Thanks, I know this topic may have already been discussed a lot already, but as a person just returning to Vancouver - should what should I do differently than before (~2 years ago).

Thanks!

Prostitution stings lead to 36 people charged in Calgary
CBC News Posted: Jul 07, 2015 6:22 PM MT Last Updated: Jul 07, 2015 6:22 PM MT

Two different prostitution stings in Calgary have led to charges against 36 people.

The first happened in late March and involved a four-day operation focusing on "known strolls" in the Beltline and the Forest Lawn Industrial area. That lead to 32*people charged with obtaining sexual services for consideration.

A second sting in June resulted in four men charged with communicating for the purposes of attaining sexual services from a minor.*That operation targeted online services involving under-aged girls.
There have been other articles posted about arrests in other regions in Canada in the 26 page stickied thread at the top of The Lounge.

I notice that you left out part of my quote yet again... you always tend to leave out certain points. Gee I wonder why?
Because I only quote the pertinent part of a post to which I'm responding. In this case, it was the blatant misinformation that was posted.

I should have said Charges laid against men that were actively associated with SP's, escorts, independent ladies, ladies working for an agency. Incalls and out calls.
If that's what you meant, then yes, you certainly should have. But you didn't. Had you posted with the qualifier that you have now included, I wouldn't have addressed what I saw as an ignorant post.

The following note is not addressed to Badger specifically but meant as an FYI for the forum in general. The following article was reported back in March. Interpret it how you will.

Police will pursue johns online in effort to end prostitution in Calgary, chief says
By: Robson Fletcher Metro., Published on Tue Mar 31 2015

Vice officers will adapt to changing times and technologies in an ongoing effort to eliminate prostitution in Calgary, the city’s police chief told members of city council Wednesday.

"We have that in-house expertise," interim chief Paul Cook told the city’s protective services committee, during a discussion of how sex-trade transactions have moved increasingly online.

"Our vice unit will continually investigate and surveil … Internet sites to work toward the elimination of prostitution within our community,” Cook added.

All officers are adapting to the “complexities” of modern law enforcement, the chief said, and, where necessary, members of the police service’s tech crimes unit are called in to assist officers in other units.

While prostitution complaints are down, Cook said police recognize that many of the transactions are now simply happening online and indoors, rather than in public places.

Dixie Baum of the Servants Anonymous Society of Calgary, a group that helps women exit the sex trade, told Metro earlier this week that demand for prostitution has not decreased in the city.

Coun. Evan Woolley said a particularly notorious strip of 15 Avenue in the Beltline is seeing fewer sex-trade transactions happen on the street, but much of the activity is still happening indoors on those same blocks.

“There's lots of those apartment buildings that that online activity is happening in and it's actually flowing out onto the streets,” Woolley said, adding he encourages area residents “to report, report, report" if they see any illegal activity.

Gee yes man mountain there have been arrests. But in what areas? How many have involved doors being kicked in and raids being conducted on incalls of SP's?
Oh... also, you might want to google Operation Northern Spotlight. For the sake of full disclosure, it happened before the passing of the new legislation and while they didn't actually "kick in" the doors of any SP incalls, anyone interested in factual context of how that investigation happened should read the VICE story on how it was conducted.

Edit: Here's the link for anyone who might be interested:

You know 90% of the talk on the board here?
While I haven't personally run a statistical analysis on the reviews posted on this forum, I suspect that you grossly underestimate the percentage of reviews of the asian micro scene and that of the faux independent SPs.

The City of Vancouver [not Metro Vancover] is proclaimed to be Poonatopia.
The civil code is simple:
Don't piss-off the neighbors, don't be a dumb_dick, don't exploit nobody <*> Live long, and prosper.
Thanks be unto the Founders and our Empress Susi .

lol, inside the city of vancouver proper, people are safe from enforcement as long as there's no exploitation involved. if you witness or suspect exploitation is involved, please report it....to me or to crime stoppers...

cheers everyone!

Yeah, no kidding eh? As of right now, 9 out of 17 threads on page one of the reviews section are for Asian auntie and k-girl micros. Yeah, 90% sounds about right lol - elementary school math ftw! But of course, it's par for the course, because as we all know, if it ain't part of his world, it's irrelevant.

I watched a documentary called American Callgirl which claimed that a huge majority of SPs are not independent (they were mostly focused on Las Vegas). Not sure how that claim holds up for cities in Canada.

This probably deserves its own thread.
