So here I am going through my old photos and I realized how fit I use to be. I wasn'y body building type but I did have a six pack and was able to fit into my 32 Jeans...

Anywayz..I don't think I am that far off from getting back into my old form again. I think I need to lose like 20 pounds and work out religiously to get any kind of a resemblance of a six pack.

So I decided to stop pooning until I have reached my goal and also for every month that goes by without reaching my goal, I will dump 750bux into a savings account.

Do you think that is enough motivation for me to get this shit going??

Hey Verb,

I like your thinking and the thought of using leverage of trying to achieve your goals.

Here are my suggestions based on my experience and from reading some great books on goal setting:
I am not sure if putting the money in a bank account is a good idea because you are still benefiting from it as it is money going towards your savings account.

May I suggest this instead:
- put the money towards a charity (i.e. a worthy charitable cause of your choice). That way, if you don't achieve your goals, you actually feel the pain of losing the money and at least the money is going towards a cause

- set yourself incremental goals towards your 20 pounds and reward yourself for progress. For example, each time you lost 5 pounds or x inches off your waist, you can poon for one session as a reward. Then you need to lose another 5 for the next pooning session... you don't have to poon, you can reward yourself by buying something that you enjoy.

- hold yourself accountable to another person. Find someone else who is trying to achieve a similar goal and is motivated to do so. Have that person hold you accountable for eating right, showing up at the gym, etc... You will be much more motivated and more likely to do something if you know someone is waiting for you or going to be following up with you to see if you are making progress

Just some thoughts on this issue.. hope it helps and good luck!

Verb,
I think it will be a very good motivation for you...I am also having the same dilema as yours...I have not gone back to the gym for more than 9 months...(I mean regular gym time, once every 2/3 weeks does not count)...I need to do the same thing as you....to get myself in shape...
The problem is if no one is going with me (my friend used to go with me, but he's now into some weird religious stuff) and therefore, I just sometimes do not have the motivation to go by myself...

I think that's a really good idea! Then with all the money you save, when you reach your goal you can have a crazy pooning party, hehe!
The picture in your sig is motivation enough for me to hit the gym!!

The secret to many goals, as my old hockey coach used to preach ...

"if you can't get it up, you won't get it in!!!" :D

well...I actually started it today and went for a run for 1 hour! And damn it...I am freaking sore!!! My friends told me to work through it and not wait through it. So I am hoping 2 to 3 months on crazy running/jogging will do the trick. Oh yeah....I am also doin the Vegeterian thing too. Feel good on the first day except for the soreness....I am preying I can last thorugh this!!
