I have been thinking a lot about the past and how much more simple and more eye opening times were in my 20s. I had light interests and one of the biggest ones was Pavel Bure ( in a straight way you pervs:p ). I would daydream a ton about having his skating ability and skills. Everything from the fame, attention from women, money, looks all of it. I dream of being young like that and with the city in your hands. Everywhere you go people would remember they meet you.

He was a total dick. Rude to the fans and an ego that was as big as Krutov's ass.

Long time friend of mine was a huge fan of his..I think at the time he played for the Canucks? He met him and strangely, his opinion changed and he thought he was the biggest dickhead on the planet.

Bure was a one man show in hockey. Sit around, wait for the perfect pass & score. Outside of that he never did anything..for the game. I cringe saying this...but Jagr was 10 times the player he was

Now..call a fucking ambulance..for me please.
Your 100% right. Bure has NOTHING on Jagr!

If we were all famous athletes or movie stars I'm sure the majority of us would make more time for the hot ladies. Who wants to greet and sign autographs for all the sausages?
If I was a famous athlete or a movie star, I'd have an entourage armed with batons (or maybe electric cattle prods) that would keep all the little people away from me - except for the hot ladies, who would be guided directly to me. :D OK, I wouldn't actually be that much of a dick, but there is certainly some truth in what you say, Timid.

Some players hate mass crowds of autograph hounds. I heard Jose Canseco say once that all those pens and sharpies would get on your hands and clothes. And I'm sure Bure dressed better than most of us.

Many times we brought nothing for them to sign just wanted to meet n say hello. We always gave them lots of room but some players are a bit cold in personality. Actually Messier was colder than a dead fish when treating fans.

Can you imagine being Sidney Crosby and coming here to play the Canucks. Afterwards you head to the Roxy. Do you want a swarm of sweaty guys older than you swarming around you for autographs or a bunch of young university nubile women giving you hugs and phone numbers?

No reason for these guys to be rude but again we don't really offer them any incentive to be nice to us unless they happen to be gay.

Good looking girls where rarely wanting to meet them and cant be bothered. But yes the gals where treated the same. Some of these players ignored everybody. They just dont have the personality to deal with fans. Majority of them where very good though. Mogilny was also a prick with us and dressed like a slob

Now my big question is was did he treat good-looking female fans as poorly? I can understand any famous male not being enthuastic to meet other male fans or ugly chicks, but if they treat hot chicks like shit then they truely are scum of the earth.

got his autograph on a photo ....

a friend of mine was friendly with Igor Larianov, and got me a signed Pavel picture for my uncle who was a long time Canuck fan

I personally don't give them the time of day when I see them....give them their privacy and don't give them swelled heads from the attention.

I saw Daniel Sedin at my local Safeway a month ago, only a couple of us in the store even recognized him.

Now I would absolutely love to meet Linden. The guy's done so much for the community, as far as I'm concerned he's an inspiration.
The guy is so over-rated as a hockey player. Average at best... As far as the community goes...he has endless time (4 months off a year) and money...

Yes, he's got plenty of time off each year and plenty of money. Obviously. So does every NHL player, and virtually every professional sports player. How many of them do you see spending so much of their time and money on the community? That's what makes him an inspiration.

He was second overall in draft, next to Mondano. He was heart and soul of Van until the pox of NHL Keenan came along and ruined them. They are still trying to get over his tenure.

Id say Lindens above average but certainly not superstar type player. Not sure why they retired his jersey. None of the canucks players throughout their lame history has ever had a hall of famer. Not even sure pavel will make it into the hall.
