I think we are all lucky Peter McKay retired. He would have held a much larger PC support as leader, but kept on the religious right wing path.

mckay only stepped aside because he could see the slaughter coming

look to the future to see his sorry ass again - think along the lines of vander zalm in bc... retires, then at the next leadership convention - guess who wins?
