Hey I just wanted to wish myself a three years sober birthday!

Many of you don't know where I came from. I traded services for substances quite regularly. I'd have to have at least 3 shots before every appointment. I would steal booze or drugs from client's houses while they were in the bathroom. Several of my clients were dealers who paid me in substances. I used to make out with restaurant owners and staff for free food and booze. The list goes on.

Three years ago today I was stumbling out of a client's apartment in Yaletown after giving... erm... a service we don't talk about here for drugs. I called my roommate and did a thing I'd never done before in my life and *asked for help*. Since then things have just been getting better and better. Now, I run a business I'm proud of and have amazing connections and relationships with people that are deeper than I even thought possible.

Anyways, don't forget that you deserve to be good to yourself, and you're worthy of love from yourself and others. I hope you have a fulfilling day <3

Varies now
Even though there are days I wish I could change some things that happened in the past, there’s a reason the rear view mirror is so small and the windshield is so big, where you’re headed is much more important than what you’ve left behind.

Congratulations Charlee. Takees a lot of determination and inner strength. I've stayed friends with a now-retired SP, who is also three years clean, and it has been inspiring seeing her journey.
