As I understand it, water doesnt do much for a normal 43% whiskey but dilute it. But with a cask-strength (around 60%) high quality malt like the A'bunadh, a little water and the warmth of your hand sets up a wee microdistillery in your glass, releasing all kinds of wonderful aromas!
PS: Ice cube! Wi' a single malt?! Are ye a damned heathen?
