hamburger mary's and vera's on davie across from fountain head....yum!!! gotta try it......yummmmm...i usually have little liking for this type of food....i liked it!!! i think there is one on denman as well. there's also johnny's hotdog place or sumthin like that on denman....across from the brass monkey. hmmm.....

Rodeo Drive-In in Surrey near the Fraser Hwy. They have one of the best hamburgers I've tasted in town, original battered onion rings and milkshakes done with the ice-cream blender do-hickey.

Are you sure Wally's on Kingsway is still in business? The last couple of times I've driven by it looked like it was shut down.
Hey....there is a place in New West right across the street from London Drugs that has fantastic burgers and shakes.....just can't remember the name but it will always be there and is great......my .02

LAG can try Roxy Burger on the east side of 900 block? Granville. $6 buys a lot of shake. The tables have "atmosphere" with those old posters and advertisements underneath the plexiglass, and those "mini-ice coolers" at the tables.
The bartender even won a prize at one of the international bartender contests. Perhaps you could talk him into doing one of those Tom Cruise Hippy-Hippy Shake demos for a regular drink.

Just had the Moderne burger by kits and it's alright. It's old fashion and took awhile to make. Good milkshakes and my family members in town had a good time.
I like the original Vera's in Kits the best. I think there is one in North Van also, but I haven't been there.

place in new west is hamburger heaven, never been there but i heard it's good, they used to have a coupon on entertainment book, there is seating, it's not like a fast food.
i've lived near wally's for about 24 years now.....it's not that good, just convenient. their business has slowed down over the years so their operating hours is reduced.
i like vera's burger shack (www.verasburgershack.com), they have a number of locations around town, but it's not really a place to sit down and eat because its so small. i heard it's comparable to hamburger mary's but i haven't been there.....i'm surprised no one suggested the pit at UBC......wait, it's not really that good there.
