Check your closet..:)
WOW....WHAT'S NEXT.....:confused::confused:

Kitchens that are shared between office workers may soon be banned from storing pork products like sausage rolls over fears that they are “offensive”.

New guidelines proposed by interfaith group CoExist House say that employers should consider worker’s religions before allowing ham sandwiches placed in the fridge alongside other products.

The group also suggests that alcohol should not be served at corporate events in case it upsets members of certain faiths.

Andy Dinham, professor of faith and public policy at Goldsmiths, University of London, is writing up the guidelines that will be put forward to employers this week.

Defending the controversial report, he told The Sunday Times: “It would be good etiquette to avoid heating up foods that might be prohibited for people of other faiths.

"The microwaves example is a good one.

“We also say, ‘Don’t put kosher or halal and other… special foods next to another [food] or, God forbid, on the same plate.”

He also said that religious people should be entitled to wear religious clothing and symbols as required.

He added: "We have lost the ability to talk about religious belief because of a century of secular assumptions, and most religious belief is either highly visible and we don’t recognise it, or it’s invisible and we miss it entirely.”

Have we really become this politically correct that the contents of our sandwiches may upset somebody? When I worked in an office environment and brown bagged it, I was careful to have things that were not too overpowering smell wise.

Religion has no part in a business office, politics and as far as I am concerned discussing your personal beliefs with non consenting people is in very poor taste.

This is the UK.

Little Britanism and insularity are fables of the culture nd help sell newspapers.

Check out Coexist https://www.coexist.org/

It's no more insightful than suggesting not to bring sausage rolls to a Bar Mitzvah.

Or perhaps suggesting it's unwise to order an "Irish car bomb" in an Irish pub.

I had to Google as I thought this was an Onion-style article. This would be the same line of reasoning that allows Kim Davis to refuse to sign marriage licences. I'm all for adhering to your customs but only as long as they don't interfere with others who don't share those beliefs. Wear what you want to wear, eat what you want to eat, marry who you want to marry, just don't restrict others.

Sounds like hysterical nonsense.
We have Jews and Muslims working side by side and sharing fridges and microwaves with no problems.

Article is clickbait BS

Makes no sense in Canada atleast. Ive gone to breakfast joints with coworkers who don't eat pork and they don't care if I eat bacon. Its not like you bring a sandwich from home and put in the same bag of the next person's food. Smelly food pisses people off more like BBB said.

when i was a small child in muslim school (in richmond bc), we went on a school field trip to the petting/feeding zoo, and my terrible islamic teacher shoo'ed the cute little piglets away when i attempted to feed them :( pathetic. And such hypocrites of the whole "halal" movement, because some of the muslim teachers would be eating KFC chicken in the school lunchroom!

Not stunning or killing an animal, and simply slicing it's throat to bleed ,is far more offensive to me than having pork wrapped in plastic, next to someone elses food.
Although none of it is pretty when it comes to slaughter. I find interesting that more humane organizations have not brought the Halal method of killing to light.
For an animal to lose consciousness can take 5 to 20 seconds..If it's done right.

Ughhh....Uncleg!...Do I have to explain everything to you?!
If you don't want your co-workers to eat your sandwich that your Mom made you for lunch, don't just write your name on it.
You simply take a Sharpie and write..."This sandwich was licked on both sides by a uncircumcised male, before he brushed his teeth in the morning...And after a night of drinking Tequila"

Hate to say it...but for some of the people I work/associate with, that could be a step up.....

Sometimes I want to leave a tray of hash brownies in one of our fridges.

When we have to put signs on fridges saying "Please only eat your own food"...that is ridiculous.
