Well, I guess it's safe to say that I am not just a fan, but a fanatic. Who else has a tattoo to support their fanatisism?

ME!

Halo 24 (Year Zero) Is the best release I have heard all year. Interesting concept album about our demise, American politics and good anti-Bush shit. Starting with the kick you in the ass HYPERPOWER! and ending in Zero-sum.

Needless to say, I am riding this wagon until the fucking wheels fall off. It's the beginning of the end.

There are several sites that support it such as " www.iamtryingtobelieve.com". The CD itself changes colour when played and reveals a 800 number to call. I thought it was hilarious that it came with a morals warning and that spreading or thinking subversive thoughts should be reported. A good joke regarding the US Morals Bureau.

Suffice to say since it's release I have listened to it 5 times a day or more. In comparison to other releases, this album surely shows the broad range of his unparalleled genius. Samples of this album are here :http://www.myspace.com/nin

Although, since this guy has gone sober, I find that his music has taken an interesting direction. Not only that, but he's more productive.

2 albums in 3 years. WOW. My hope is that as the he ages, he will fall back into some of the more compositional works such as the Fragile and the Still album. My collection is almost complete. I am missing only one Halo, and pre-ordered Halo 25 (The Survivalisim Single).

IT FUCKING ROCKS!

Just because he's so gorgeous :

Year Zero

Album of the Year?? its sure looking like its my top album of the year thats for sure.
With Teeth album was fuckin' unbelievable (the tour was even better) and it sounds like Year Zero is on par with that one, Trent along with Chris Cornell are the two best singer/songwritters in the business today, and both getting better with age as they are both over 40 (41 & 42).
i've been listen to year zero for over a week now and can't seem to turn it off

Definitely top release this year in my book. I have a huge bias though. I finally saw them November 17th / 2005, I will never forget it. I clawed, punched and kicked like hell. I got right to the front! Partied till 8am! The DVD was excellently done, I was too close to see the images on the screen. I love his simplicity. The song they're using for 300 drives me wild.

The only person that would honestly come close to his level of talent/range for production and writing is Dr. Dre. I'd say Maynard James Keenan is the closest for this type of music. He's a fucking genius too.

Chris Cornell, very talented. No question. He needs to sing the blues. Wasn't that crazy about Audioslave, I had higher expectations than mid-life crisis modern rock. I feel he definitely uses his voice to it's full potential, but lacks in the music department. Very repetitive and safe, for lack of a better word.

Downloaded the album a couple weeks ago. Definately a different sound.

The last three tracks (14 to 16) are the best on the CD.

Too bad Trent's getting older. One or 2 more albums in the future and then that will be it for NIN. I don't seem him pulling a Rolling Stones and going on past 50. Not his style.

Once he goes there will be a big void left in music as he is one of the few who actually has some originality in his tunes.

Different sound for sure, but all albums differ from eachother considerably. That's what makes it so good. It's never repetitive or stale. Over 20 years in this business surely suggests longevity.

What I think will happen is he'll pull a " Dr. Dre / Allan Parsons " - Be more of a studio musician or focus on production. I don't think he'll retire. He's contributed so much to music and production. Like Phil Spector.
