When it came out at the Justice Committee hearings that Katie Telford promised to arrange positive news coverage if Wilson-Raybould were to give SNC Lavalin a deferred prosecution, I wondered which hack journalists she would engage. One of them appears to be Joan Bryden. I can’t imagine how this has suddenly become news a month after Lametti made a decision.

I recall seeing the names of the 2 hacks who published the leaks about the SCC nomination process to discredit Wilson-Raybould and tell us how progressive and fair minded Justin is. I can’t find them now but if anyone knows I’d like to know

How is this article in line with what Telford allegedly stated she could line up? The implication of Telford's alleged statement was lining up supportive op-ed's - often referred to as fluff pieces. You imply by your post that this CP journalist is a "hack" because in your opinion it is not "news worthy". Moreover, you are implying that somehow this article is a smear against JWR - there was no negative tone in the article. And how is publishing the Supreme Court nomination make that journalist a "hack"? Any journalist would have published that leak if the leaker was credible. The leak backfired and made the PM look bad - which you like. But now you say the journalist who reported the leak is a "hack" for reporting it? So if they didn't report you would be happy? But you liked that it was reported because it made PM look bad? Logic is certainly not one of your stronger attributes young man.

If you say so. I’m seriously tired of your pedantry. Do you really think there is no quid pro quo amongst politicians and journalists other than “fluff”?

LOL! What's the quid pro quo? The leaker wanted it out there and thus needs a journalist to report it. In that scenario how could the leaker demand something other than simple reporting of the leak - the leaker needs the journalist to report the leak. In other words, the leaker needs the journalist more than the journalist needs the leaker.

Seriously? Information is power. There is always a way to deliver it! Who needs a journalist in the age of social media? But they can be helpful in a marketing strategy

LOL! So let's say a Liberal insider like Butts was the leaker: what's he going to do, create a burner Twitter profile and leak it? Come to PERB and leak it? LOL!

Huh? Do you really believe leakers are facing a shortage of journalists or is it the other way around?
