H1N1 could you or I be a carrier

Now that it seems we are bordering on mass hysteria on this subject.
Does the WHO or any one familiar with this strain of virus
know if there is any latent characteristics associated with
this flu? Could you/me possibly be infected with this virus
and not display any of the symtoms for a couple of days and
unknowingly pass it on to others ?

Hi COLONEL ANGUS

There certainly is a great deal of media coverage around the H1N1 virus.

Here is a link to some great information about H1N1 it is called “Be prepared, Be well”. It has sections on general information, prevention and flow diagrams on when to seek medical care. Here is the link.

For additional information have a look at our BCCDC web page about H1N1.

For information about the H1N1 vaccine follow this link.

To answer your question, yes it is possible. Generally people are able to pass on the virus for 24 hours before they feel sick and for up to 7 days after they become sick.
