Turn in your unregistered firearms. There's a catch though.

All the weapons turned in will now be subject to investigation to find out if any were involved in crimes, a process expected to take several months.
If the weapon is found to have been used in a crime, the amnesty in null 'n' void, and charges will be laid.

Why in phuk would anyone want to turn in anything under those conditions?

I suppose you would be ok so long as you have had the gun since new. But if you bought it used or "found" it somewhere things could get a bit dicey and I wouldn't chance turning it in. You'd be better off throwing it in the river.

This gun amnesty is a bunch of bull. Whichever government decided to put up this gun registry certainly cost us a lot of money. All it did was give the honest gun owner grief. Now they're backing up and saying, "give us your guns, we won't press charges or whatever."

And you say they'll press charges after you turn in your gun(s) if they are found to have been used in a crime? That's a load of crap.

You're right, it didn't say. This one mentions it briefly at the end of the article.
It was actually during questioning by reporters at a news conference that I saw on the evening news where the issue was discussed in detail.

Gun Amnesty is a joke

This Gun Amnesty is a joke what gang banger out ther is going to turn in his gun?

People have to be F@#$Kin retarted if you think the criminals are turning in their guns.

This is just a case of people turning in Grandpas and any unwanted firearms.

The whole thing is just a PR stunt so the voters in TO will think the feds are trying to solve the gun violence. It doesn't have to make sense, it's a government policy.

Better to drop it off on Main and Hastings. As least it will be put to a good use generating a profit.

Just get out your Dremel and do some honing on the barrel, chamber and firing pin. It's not going to be offered for auction, doesn't matter if it's not to caliber anymore.
