It’s scary that men paying for a legitimate service feel addicted and cheated. Go to a therapist guys, damn. Are you ok? Imagine saying this about any other profession or business. I could probably afford a downpayment on a house if I’d never eaten amazing food in a restaurant but guess what? I don’t wanna cook every day and I enjoy good food. Or if I’d never travelled. Or never got a car so I could go on adventures. Or never hired a personal trainer. Etc etc. but guess what? I did all those things and I’m not complaining about “addiction” because I’ve had a rich and wonderful life.

hire the sex worker. Go on the holiday. Eat the good food. We only get one life, don’t feel guilty for living it.

also , if I go to a legitimate business, and they deceive me , commit fraud or give me bad service, I usually am able to get a discount or get the product/service for free, or am compensated in some way. they are also open to legal recourse. and those google/yelp reviews are publicly available, and arent going to be taken down. They can lose their business license and be liable to fines, lawsuits etc.

It is the inability to stop doing an action that makes it an addiction. I can easily stop eating out or travelling if I wanted to and did it many times. But I know that stopping seeing escorts is extremely difficult, even when trying. I have to admit that. I seeking help to get out of this loop.

May be if you are a man facing the same problem you would understand its dynamics and what happens.

Regarding legitimate service, same can be said about selling cocaine. It is s a product and the buyer is an adult who knows what he is doing and let him enjoy his life he only has one. However, this product has an addictive nature that what makes it a problem- not able to stop and control.

The law doesn’t define legitimacy. Also not sure where you got this quote because it is perfectly legal for me to advertise myself and live off my own income. Here’s the bill:

I have a registered business and could be fined or sued. However there are two issues here that are unique to the business:

1. Usually when men complain in our business it’s because of buyer’s remorse, not a legitimate problem

2. It’s illegal to purchase sex in canada (something sex workers are actively advocating to change by reversing bill c-36)

Thanks for the source, I admit individuals like you are protected to sell/advertise sex services. Moreover, I appreciate that you can hold your argument with facts.
Coming back to my original statement, I still hold it that the enjoyment you mentioned is very costly and addictive, on top it is legal offense, until the law is changed. We have live example here as Moo211992, who is going through the legal trouble due to this enjoyment.

Exactly. It’s impulse control, not addiction. Sex itself is not addictive like cocaine as mentioned above. People just have poor impulse control. As someone who has been in real addiction, the distinction is important. The fault isn’t in the product, it’s in the buyer.

It’s not an addiction, it’s an impulse control disorder. I’m sorry for your struggles but please don’t mislabel what’s happening here.
