You're on the way to a condo you've been to a number of times to see your favourite provider. A man pulls up to park in front of the building he lives in. He notices you walking by and gets a good look at you, you take precaution and do a loop around the block to give him time to disappear. After returning to the building entrance, you notice he's still there near the entrance, now walking his dog after parking. He notices you walking back the way you came minutes earlier and is now even more interested to keep getting a good look at you. Clearly he knows why you're there and has seen a number of unfamiliar visitors here for the same purpose.

Two options: 1. Leave the area for good as though you were just out for a walk , canceling your booking and creating a bad moment/day for both you and provider.
2. Double down on your booking anyway, approach the intercom and have the man follow right behind all the way up through the building and to the door you and many others are supposed to sneak into

What is the worst case scenario in a situation like this? Surely it's a bad idea to lead a neighbor who is willing to spend time and effort to investigate to the door. What's the bigger problem, missing the earnings of a booking or having to deal with building administration and possible eviction?

The best option is #2 and double down.
Nobody has the right to know who you are there to visit (state only that you are there to visit a friend).
Without appropriate evidence it is unlikely the police will respond to this call, even if the police chief is on speed dial.
And if accusations are pointed your way? You answer back with three things : Deny, Deny, and Deny.

Would have thought that someone with Swag in their handle would know this!!

The first mistake is “take the precaution to loop around”…. Now you look sus AF. You’ll look like someone casing the joint. If you were suppose to buzz in, then just buzz in like you would visit any other friend that lives in a condo. The odds of anyone going to the same floor or adjacent unit is literally 100s:1 (depending on the size of the building).

If you are convinced you are doing something wrong in being there, then you WILL look suspicious.
If you convince yourself that you are not doing anything wrong and you deserve to be there, you will have a presence that authorizes you to be there.
Master the art of NOT giving a fuck, and nobody will question your presence.

People are allowed to have friends. Maybe he was gay and checking you out. Maybe he liked your shoes. Maybe he thought you were somebody famous. I doubt he’d know you’re a client just from outside the building. Just buzz normally. Try to stand in a way he can’t see who you’re buzzing. If you get off on the same floor and he’s bugging you then that’s awkward.

In which case, pick up your phone and make a fake call to someone and stand in the hall telling a mans name you’re there and can’t remember what apartment he’s in. You didn’t write it down. Or just fiddle with your phone texting. Smile at the guy. Be friendly, neighborly without being a creep.

Half the time, it’s you acting sketchy and guilty that’s the problem. Don’t knock on her door until the hall is clear. Or text her to say there’s a guy in the hall if she wants to throw jeans on. She’s allowed to have friends over.

Yeah a police chief is going to drop everything because someone saw someone in a parking lot. And he carries his police laptop with him everywhere.
Yes amazing detective work determining that an overblown hypothetical imagined scenario is a little bit detached from everyday reality haha

In normal circumstances yes but what about a nosy neighbor that would take the full time and energy to confirm your destination and purpose

Most new buildings, somebody can’t get off on the same floor as you unless they live there. Most people mind their own business. I used to live in a place with a nosy neighbor and had to move due to him. But out of all the places I’ve lived, he was the worst. He lived down the hall from me. Somebody living on a different floor wont care what somebody on a different floor is doing. People are genuinely curious tho sometimes. In which case don’t act like a sketch bag and act like you belong where you’re going

This is a normal circumstance…. You went in to an apartment of 100s of units to meet someone.

for a nosy neighbour who happens to be sus of the unit next to them, they would have to follow everyone they see going in. Which is unlikely…. But they may follow a suspicious person going in, which ironically is exactly what you did!

He’s probably thinking you look suspicious as in you may be a thief. Many Condo complexes have issues with people stealing things, including packages, break ins, and other forms of theft. I really highly doubt that they think that you’re there to see a provider.

As someone else mentioned above, maybe Carrie with you a bag where it looks like you might be making a delivery, or bringing over something for a friend that lives in the building. Walking around the block to come back again I would say it would make you look even more suspicious. But again, I doubt this person thinks you’re there to see a provider.

Yeah, you are correct it is more suspicious if you walked loop around. However, funny enough it happened to me once that this dude on the elevator was also going to the same floor as I was. He looked like he lives there the way he was dressed, but then turns out he was a delivery guy and boy he even got confused and asked me for directions, lol.

I had a lady get off at the same floor as me. I just looked her in the eye, smiled and wished her a good day. Another time, right after seeing a lady I was waiting for the elevator and it opened up with four police officers in it. I was stunned, they looked at me and said “come on in, there’s room”. So I did.😂

basically, go about your business and most people will do the same.
