GST on carbon tax

Recently, I received my monthly gas statement and discovered that we need to pay 5% GST on the carbon tax...We got screwed by the Liberal because of this Liberal carbon tax plan..what can we do right now ?

It's a federal responsibility.

I believe it's only 2.5 cents a litre.

Are you complaining about the GST being imposed on the carbon tax?
The GST on 2.5 cents is .12 cents.

While it is a tax on a tax. The nickle a month it costs me, isn't really something I lose sleep over

Is Carbon tax a goods or service for our British Columbian ? The answer is definitely " NO ". Then why we need to pay for the extra $ for this tax in BC ..

If we can not stop this stupid tax by taking our own vote in the coming election in May, we will be taking out more money from our wallet and this is approx 3 times more than you need to pay in 2009. For example, my Terasen Gas bill is $270 this month and carbon tax is $10 and extra GST on carbon tax $.5..by 2012 the carbon tax will become $30 and I need to pay more GST on this tax.. Is that stupid ?

I hate to break this to you all, but we have been paying tax upon a tax for quite a while now whenever we fill up on petrol. The GST is added onto the price of fuel AFTER you figure in all the provincial and federal excise taxes.

At least we don't have a carbon tax here in Alberta.
