Just got back from grocery shopping and spent $350 FUCKING Dollars??? And I live alone. I thought I would try PriceSmart Foods and, despite the name, they are pretty damned expensive. Even Donald's Market is cheaper. Where do you shop. What do you find is the best value (besides StupidStore)? They also have a very poor selection of low sodium and sodium free products.

I know how you feel prices are pretty fking nuts.. and not that im super cheep but I hate paying more for things I know are cheeper other places.. it's like having your wallet raped by all their gorilla math on what they think they can charge for things. BLOWS MY MIND TOO. For fruit and veggies there is an asian market across the street from the courthouse just passed hastings and a block or so east from main.. they are dirt cheep... and you can stack your fridge to last you for like two weeks or so for $40 or less depending on what you eat.
Low sodium, no sodium? Think you need to lay off the pre packaged stuff & start cooking, you'll save a lot of money that way.
I do cook, but I still need things like sodium free tomato sauce, margarine, peanut butter, etc. Yeserday was my 1 year anniversary of my bypass surgery.
I have to agree with this one. Was not at either of these places but was at FredMyer today in Bellingham and just about crapped myself when i looked at costs... 2 dollars for a 4 litre of milk?!?!?! 4 bux for a huge block of cheese?!?!?! WHat the hell!!!

Congrats on your renewed health. As above, Sunrise has a surprising number of organic products too...
And let's not forget Trader Joe's! No trip into WA is complete without a stop there...incredible selection of organic and vegetarian products, huge selection of nuts, all at 1/3 to 1/2 of Vancouver prices!
I also shop at PriceSmart. However I always shop at the odd time of the day such at after 8:30pm on Tuesday or Wednesday. During those hours you can always find some items with special price,i.e I bought a net of 1kg garlic for $1.39 last Tuesday.
On the other hand ,I will totally avoid processed food. The price are totally out-rages there!
In addition I also compare prices with different supermarkets. T & T is an excellent place for buying fresh meat and vegetable.

Surprisingly I do well at Safeway. I am a single shopper and make my mind up to never buy more than a couple days groceries at one time. I get a .05 cent discount on their gas, and when I do buy I alter my foods to the ones they have on sale. Maxwell house coffee when it is on sale is $3.00 a can cheaper, bags of salad (usually lasts 2 days) 2 for $3.00. I check in the meat department for 30% off meats, seafood and chicken that is a day or two before expiry. I freeze what I don't eat right away. They sell Standing rib and striploin on sale for half price at times.
These are just a few things, but those along with other flyer add ons makes it easy to keep my food costs down.

on line flyers are also helpful to browse.. if you want to stock up somethings non perishible... or can be frozen... 
I for one hate shoppping for the little things that you always need or want... toilet paper... canned soup.. canned foods pasta sauses toothbrushes... ect so I always stock up and hit sales.. and generally buy enough for half the year...
