This is devastating to many northern Manitoba communities.
For most of Manitoba Greyhound is the only transportation.
It will be the same for most northerly parts of Western Canada.

Perhaps using Via Rail across the West with privately owned independent smaller buses going to all parts North ?

I'm wondering about the freight component. Greyhound has had a good market share of picking up freight in BC and delivering to the lower mainland.

The Yukon News :

" This is the reality of a rapidly urbanizing Canada. The hinterland lacks the political clout to convince the rest of the country that mobility is just as important here as it is in the big city.
As long as that’s the case, too many Canadians who live in rural and remote communities will be stuck at the side of the road, thumbs extended, waiting desperately for a ride."
