I love this new reality show, the only one I've ever liked at all!
They have two contestants competing in separate locations. The owner of the coffee shop/store/whatever is in on it and "hired" the new worker & allowed placement of hidden cameras, but the manager & other workers are clueless. The object is to get fired on your first day on the job. Whoever gets fired the closest to 3 pm but not after 3 wins $25,000. They can't break the law, ask to be fired, or tell them they are on TV. So they must start out slightly obnoxious/psycho/irritating and progressively up the ante, hoping that it can reach a peak just before 3, prompting the sack. It was hilarious. At the coffee shop scene his coworkers threatened him physically & called the police on him, saying he was disorderly.
The contestants aren't actors, but I'm sure they auditioned to show their capacity for annoying behavior.
It takes a lot to make me laugh out loud, & this show filled the bill.

Yep - absolutely LOVED the show. I loved when the coffee shop dude was flirting with the MILF!
I loved it when that chick started taking a nap on the rack. Or the hot chick doing her little cheerleader batton tricks with customers in the store. I loved it when the fellow employee whispered "is she mental or something"!?!?! :D

Tuesday on CBS. Yesterday was the first of four shows. It's a remake of a BBC show.

My favorite moment was when the hot chick working in the hat shop, while trying on a new hat every five minutes (which is one of the boss's pet peeves!), out of the blue strides up to the boss to ask "Does this place do random drug testing? I just need to know, and the owner said I should direct any questions to you." It's a hat shop for chrissakes, not air traffic control tower.

Most of the bosses were too gutless to fire them to their faces. Instead they attempted the wimpy "I'm sending you home" crap (intending to fire them by phone the next day, useless for the contestants), & then they really had to be driven hard to actually say "You're fired!"

I think that because the shop OWNER had done the hiring and not the managers, that the managers were afraid to fire this person in case they were related to the owner or were sons or daughters of the owner's friends.

That might put their own job in jeopardy or at least land them in some hot water with the owner. Otherwise I can see no reason why these people wouldn't have been fired by lunch time.

This was a very funny show. I can't help wondering how many people are going to go out, get themselves hired and do the same thing on their own, just for the hell of it. Just think about this show the next time you get a new co-worker from hell. :D

It's a very funny show, but I couldn't help but wonder if it was all staged. I mean, what's the likelihood that all four of them would get fired SO CLOSE to 3:00 pm?! Funny to watch, but I'm not gullible enough to not wonder if it's staged.

watching from the sidelines
My Favorite Part

Was when the police were called by the coffee shop and even after the cops got there the guy pipes out with "there is only one way your gonna get me outta here". Then when he comes back to tell them that it was a t.v. programme and they were gonna call the police again!! I laughed.

Precisely how could it be staged?

Yes, when he shouted "There's only one way you're gonna get me outta here!" he was begging to get fired, as it was only 3 minutes before 3pm, so time was running out on him. I was afraid they would misunderstand & arrest him instead.

I loved when he was trying to pick up the MILF customer who said she had a son his age.
