I have available one grandfathered-in City Fido phone plan. This allows you to make unlimited texts and calls within any major city in Canada for $35 - NO DATA, NO VOICEMAIL included at that price. Pretty good deal for someone who tours in Canada and doesn't need data (use hotel or your personal phone for that). You can get data add-ons that vary in price.
You must provide your own Fido-compatible phone, and agree to change the number from my personal number after the transfer - it's free to change your number online.
This plan sells on the open market for $100-150. The catch is it is on contract ("Tab24") until August 2016, paying off the phone I'm taking with me to Wind - so if you are for sure going to continue the plan for just over a year, it's a great deal. If you cancel before that, you'll pay off the "Tab" which will be between $0-$400 depending on how long you keep it for. You will have to pass all the normal credit checks, etc. You can always find someone to take City Fido plans, google around to see examples of people "selling" them for actual cash. This is free if you agree to take over to Aug 2016.
