I call my brother in Vancouver and he never calls me.My cellphone rang and I saw the call display and I knew what the call was about before I answered.

I answered the call and my brother said he had some bad news....I knew what that bad news was even before he said it.My father passed away this afternoon in the nursing home.

Not something I would normally share but I am pretty fucked up right now.

Very sorry for your families loss. A tough one to deal with, especially so near fathers day.
My dad passed 8 years ago the day after my birthday from terminal cancer. I always felt he held on one day longer so the annivery of his passing wouldn't fall on my day.
My deepest condolences to you and your family.

So sorry sr.....

They say time heals all but I lost my dad as well over a year ago and still feel it. Takes time. All I can tell you is lean on your family and friends and don’t shut down. Stay strong my friend.

I thank you all for your condolences.I really appreciate them. The "family" is now down to me and my brother.

I was asked why I did not take the day/week off from work and my response was "moaping about the house thinking about it over and over would be far worse for me".....much better IMO to keep busy and occupied.

My condolences. Even if you knew it was inevitable, it is rough when it happens. Stay strong, grieve in whatever manner allows you to get closure

It was expected but it still came as a shock.I am not "relieved" in any sense.Your choice of a single word really makes me want to say something harsh but I will not do so.

I have no choice,I have to get on with it and deal with this nasty shit sandwhich that I have been served.I dont have a take a bite I have to eat the whole thing.
