Hey, there are more Canadian kids on TB than on Calgary (TB has most in NHL actually according to NHL.com stats).

Think of Dave Andreychuk - not the Ray Bourque type of join an elite team, Dave stuck it out with a cellar dweller and brought them class and taught the youngsters how to win.

TB may not be in Canada but it IS a Canadian team.

You just missed it
Even though they did not pull it off, this is one of those series that no matter who won, it will be hard to forget the energy and spirit both teams put into this game I love. Much like the 1994 Rangers/Canucks series, we will be remembering this for sometime to come.

It's funny, I never saw the Stanley Cup final as a Canada vs. US affair, but rather a game between 2 sports teams.....

Maybe that's why I'm glad Tampa won....'stead o' Calgary.... sorry to all you Calgary fans.... but now you know how us Vancouver fans felt on the game 7 loss...... by one goal.......

The curse of the Calgary Flames

Since winning the Stanley cup in 1989 in the Montreal Forum (the only visiting team to do so), the Flames have lost in the first round of the playoffs 6 times between 1990 and 1996 (missing the playoffs in 1992). Then they missed the playoffs entirely between 1997 and 2003. Most people thought the curse was over this year but by coming so close to the Stanley cup may be the worst punishment of all.
