I have a kidney stone that is KILLING me. I have been on the waiting list in vancouver for WAY too long. Does anyone know a good urologist that is here in Edmonton? Anyone know what the waiting lists are like out here for the lithotripsy?

I'm interested in any info anyone has on this... Please pm or email me. bobbi.van@gmail.com

U of A Emergency is not the best in AB

It is not even the best in Edmonton.

The best emergency in Alberta is the Royal Alex.

As far as the Children's Hospital, Orthopoedics, Hearts and Livers and other transplants the U of A is a world class facitlity.

But the emergency is lacking there. They are trying to get better, but the Emergency at the U of A is probably the biggest project on Capital Healths plate right now.

Just south of here
However,

lithotripsy is only done at the Misericordia Hospital, and very little if any cystoscopy is done at the UofA.

But the urologists in Edmonton are not tied to any one hospital, so probably doesn't matter where you go. Any emergency can hook you up with a urologist..that is probably the quickest way into the system.
