Can anyone recommend a good place to buy chicken strips that you heat up at home and don't cost a fortune? I find the frozen stuff at the supermarket is some kind of foam/chicken by-product, that is kind of disgusting to say the least.

Costco does have a good selection, but I could never find any with a half assed breading. Always reminded me of sawdust. I find it easier just to strip out an extra chicken breast or 2 when I BBQ, ket them cool, into ziploc bags and into the freezer. I dont worry about freezer burn cause they dont last very long. Theyre not breaded , but a minute and change in the nuke-box, and I have munchies. PM me if ya want a good recipe.

m&m meatshop. but instead of the breaded chicken strips (which have more fat and breading) i used to buy the spicy breaded chicken breasts and then cut them up.

Call me weird, but I like the presdent's choice from Super Store chicken strips. A kind to avoid is the Blue Lable, those taste like sawdust!

anything you buy from a store is mass produced and will most likely taste odd.. so a no brainer would be just make your own... or is your life so busy that you absolutely have no time except for the commercial break to prepare food for yourself? Whats with you people get off your lazy lumps and fend for yourselves. I think its quite shameful how much we rely on mass produced pre-made food items, what ever happened to good old fashioned cooking

and 4ByFish stop puttin chicken in the microwave thats just horribly wrong :D

Pan Fried Chicken Strips

2 tbsp. olive oil
2 lbs. chicken breast, skinned, boned, and cut into 1/2 inch wide strips
6 cloves garlic, crushed
6 green onions, chopped
1/3 c. white wine
2 tbsp. lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste

Heat a large frying pan, add oil, saute chicken strips, garlic and green onion over high heat until chicken lightly browned. Remove from pan. Add wine and lemon juice and allow to reduce for a little bit. Return chicken to pan. Add salt and pepper. Serve quickly so chicken won't overcook.

Not bad for low grade ...chicken by-products...

Went and bought Presidents Choice chicken strips last week. They aren't exactly what I'm looking for...they're a low grade chicken by-product type...when you bite into them and look at the so called meat, they look like white foam material. I can only imagine what goes into these...but for the low end of the market, they do taste pretty good.

I'm looking for chicken strips you would get served in a bar type atmosphere.

Kalel, thanks for the tip. The M&M chicken strips are pretty good. For $14 (on sale), I got a huge box with around 30 strips in it...and it's real chicken!!!! Not that foam by-product stuff found in most frozen chicken strips. Pretty tasty with plum sauce!! I went for the breaded ones...not overly healthy, so I'll just have a few a day...

Cheers
