I went to visit my favourite Sushi place last week to find out that they are no longer there and do not offer their menu of all you can eat sushi and sashimi (which I'm more interested in). This place on Davie used to have sockeye sashimi and toro on their all you can eat menu.

Any of you guys have recommendations for similar places? I don't care about all the Korean bbq and other crap that some of the other more popular places offer.

Cheers!

I like the one on Denman, Tanpopo. Good service, yummy sushi for an awesome price. :)

While it's true that 'All you can eat' isn't the mark of a fine establishment, i've always been happy with Tanpopo on Denman and Pendrell, to the disgust of many of my friends. Not sure why it's got a bad rep, I have been dozens of times and so far I've always left happy and feeling great, unlike many of the other Chinese run sushi joints in the city. Pretty sure Tanpopo is under Chinese ownership.

They have a late night (9 to 11:30) all you can eat menu for $13.95. The salmon is always wild sockeye (or so they claim) and the tuna is cut properly so it doesn't have those nasty tough strands in it. There is an extended all you can eat for around $20 that has raw oysters and beef tataki, of which I pillage greedily to the point where the chefs shoot me nasty looks, and clearly begin to slow the service to discourage my gluttony.

shabusen yakiniku house - 755 Burrard St, i ate there about 10 years ago, it was good then. i seem to remember they also had meat cuts that you could barbecue or fondue at the table for one all-inclusive price. it may have changed hands

Had dinner there a few weeks ago, it was OK. Service was fast. Didn't notice the said limit on sashimi as there was 5 in our group.

All you can eat and sushi don't mix. All the rolls and nigiris have so much rice. Try real sushi and you'll never go back!!

Robson sushi is the best deal after 930pm(they dont have the Korean BBQ) for 12.00. There's a limit on how much sashimi u have for the 930 special. Found it the best quality with the sushi buffet places.
