Going to Bangkok, any pointers, place suggestions?

Try to stay away from tourist poon places like nana plaza or patpong and try to find out where the locals go. They generally have the better looking and younger girls. Also avoid all the people that hang around the hotels asking if ur looking for girls cause they generally het a commission from the place they send u too.
I met a bellhop who hooked me up with a local place he goes to and it's about half the cost of the clubs that cater to foreigners. If I remember properly there is a place called the Siam Hotel that has independants working there who generally tend to be working class citizens or students who do it for the extra
do a search for a stickman on Bangkok who does reviews on pooning in thailand.

I do remember it cost me 500bht to get from the airport to the Honey Hotel.
After several weeks there learning my way around and learning to haggle it cost me on 35 bht to get back from the hotel to the airport.
500 bht was only about 20 bucks back then so it didn't seem like a lot.
Wish I was going.....

If you only want the best of the best then, Poseidon, chicks there are usually Penthouse / Playboy cover models in terms of looks.
Go for the model lounge. Super luxury stuff, huge ass room with hot tub, fresh local/western food served to your room while you do it. Really nice experience. Best thing is, its not expensive, cant recall exactly but its like 5-6k THB per session and its usually more than 1hr. Food/Room/Tip extra thou.
Also do note that most hotels do charge an additional guest fee (if you pick up a chick for the night). One place that was not strict about this rule is the Peninsula, came back with a diff chick almost every other night and was fine.

I stay in the Sukhumvit area between soi 2 and 18.
My favourite hotel is the Manhatten on soi 15, about $35 night, get a new room, and get a meter taxi to/from the airport.
Also book in as a double, as the price is almost the same as a single, as they will charge extra for a "guest".

When I got to the Honey hotel in Bangkok, I put all my money, passport and plane tickets in the hotel safe.
Every morning I went down and got enough money for the day.
If you leave anything valuable in your room it will probably be gone when you get back.
Even if you are gone for 5 mins.
I would imagine the 5 star hotels are a little better, but I think you would have a little trouble getting bar girls into them.
If 2 kids innocent looking young kids playing on the street bump into you as you walk by, check your pockets..they are probably empty.
Don't leave your bags alone in the airport. Not for a second.
Don't carry a wallet in your back pocket.
Don't get falling down drunk unless you got a REAL GOOD BUDDY to take care of you.
Keep your wits about you.
As I was going from Bangkok to Manila a guy asked if he could put 2 speakers on my ticket as he had used up all his baggage tags. =No Friggin way. Probably full of drugs.
I went to Southeast Asia for a month and brought only one hand carry bag for the whole trip.
Getting laundry done is cheap and easy.
You could get a nice shirt back then for a buck and a half.
There was no need to drag a bunch of shit all over the place.
Lots of fun to be had, but just keep your wits about you and beware, there are a few pitfalls.

it's all cheap as hell compared to here, but you can get some helpfull tips from 1stopbangkok.com. helped me out, and don't follow anybody off the street to a massage parlor because you could get jacked or it just turns out to be shitty. the one good thing about the tourist massage parlors like nana plaza, annies or chao phraya is that they don't presure you for a tip before or after the session is over. The cheaper ones do.
as mentioned above, Club of Eden is not bad, but it is still a tourist destination. As in they serve mostly non-Thai's
If you want a local bath+sex you can go to J-One (Chaopraya one). It is next to Bangkok Hospital. The last time I was there the girls were pretty hot. I went to stay 1 month and ended up staying 4 years. Wildest years of my life. Sukumvit Soi 34 has a nice bath house if it is still there. Back then it was a 2 hours massage with a hot bath, BBBJ and HJ, for $12. Be careful and keep it covered. And never ever fall in love with a Thai chick no mater how nice they seem. I've seen too many horror stories there.
