have you tried the otterbox cases? A friend of mine who is a plumber and construction worker keeps his iphone in that, and he drops it all the time while he is working and it bounces everywhere in his truck when he drives, and it has never broken.

the fancy thin glove cases are useless.

yeah, i have used otters before. they are difficult to get the phone out if you need to change the battery. I am on my second otter since i got the phone in august.

I dropped the first one in the toilet. It worked. The I dropped it and it cracked the screen, I am now on my 2nd Galaxy.

Thank the gods I had insurance for the phone, they shipped me one out for $150 deductible.

It costs $260 at the Crystal Mall cell shop to get a cracked screen fixed. FYI.

next time I will try a different brand phone cover.

Confused... you don't need to get the phone out of an otter to charge it.

I've had Otters on two generations of iPhone and iPad. They offer great protection, only takes a bit to put on and then you can just relax and have fun with your risk greatly reduced... Sounds like other good advice.

If you are familiar with the Samsung Galaxy S3, you would know that to change batteries you have to take the phone out of the otter, remove the back plate, then take out the battery.

I keep three batteries fully charged for my Galaxy.

1 in the phone
1 in my wallet
1 in my house.

I do not carry a charger, I just carry an extra battery and swap it out if I do not plan to be home all day. It's a lot better than asking the waitress to plug my phone in for me while I am out for dinner.

Thank you for asking for clarification, I appreciate that, GM.

btw Cherise. Galaxy's are known for having a more breakable screen. I saw Android Central do a test on Youtube and their own product failed the test. Sorry. :(

Now if it came down to an Iphone, yes, get your apple care for sure! Hands down, best warranty ever IMHO.
i pretty much think of apple as the evil empire, but a buddy of mine who works construction had an i5 that had suffered some damage (not glass), plus he had an ipad that was giving him some grief as well. but he had applecare on both

last saturday morning he was at the apple shop with his two poorly functioning devices in hand when they opened the door, and twenty minutes later he walked out with two brand new devices in boxes - no questions asked

the apple dude simply diagnosed them WIRELESSLY using his shop iphone (apparently they've got some special software that lets them do that shit) and said, 'yep, they're busted all right' and broke out the new boxes right away

my buddy asked if he had to sign anything and the dude simply held up his iphone and said, 'it's all in here... have a nice day'

so if my buddy's story is all true, yeah, applecare works :)

WOW!!! Thanks for sharing that.

When I thought my first Galaxy had water damage I called *611. They sent me to the mall. I show up at the kiosk to claim my new phone and the guy practically laughed me out of the mall!!!

I had to call a "special" warranty number and the rep was super nice, friendly, attentive, mailed it out right away. But I was almost left PHONELESS And it was a FRIDAY. So there was 5 days I would have been phone less if I had not dried it out.

That is enough to make me think about going iPhone. even if I think they are evil too.
