glad to see they didn't need to kill him with a taser, a broken hip was good enough..

please define close to perfect...

if you so desire, please name five people on this planet who are close to perfect...

btw classycarly thank you for your point of view...

i don't agree with everything you said but you said it in a nice civil manner without being on the attack...
It is nothing but striving for perfection.

NOT looking for the easy way out.
NOT using your power irresponsively.
And when you screwed up, NOT trying to cover up and blame the victim.

This would be enough for starters.

You want five people?

There are millions of conscientios people on earth. They tend to mind their own business and are not in the spotlight. I am sure many of them are cops, but those don't make headlines killing people.

ma1234...

that is exactly my point...

we never hear the stories about most cops who go about their business in a professional manner on a daily basis facing extreme dangers sometimes...

the cops who than go home to their wife and kids...

the cops who rescue a cat from a tree...

the cops who volunteer...

the cops who speak with kids about being responsible citizens...

the cops who arrive at an accident scene giving comfort to people...

your right the media doesn't like those stories because they are not sensationalistic enough...

see pandering media comments...

remember the cop who was gunned down awhile back answering a domestic violence call, supposedly to help someone, leaving behind a loving wife and baby...

why isn't there a thread on perb about how tragic that was...

sorry but i don't buy into the fact that cops are inherently corrupt...

except when i get a speeding ticket...

but than i get over it...

to bad some posters (not you) can't...

i agree with you on this but here's the thing that sucks. its their job to do these things and thats why you don't hear about them doing their job properly because just that, its their job. do you have the reporters come to your work and report on how good of a job you are doing?

probably not unless you are a professional athlete. it does suck and i could see how it could be frustrating to be in such a dangerous thankless job but thats the facts.

as for threads about when police are killed in the line of duty we certainly do have threads of compassion about it when it happens and it is widely reported. take for instance the 5 mounties killed in alberta not too long ago or and well i guess this is an extreme example but after the twin towers came down there was basically a "love in" for the nypd and police officers around the country along with firefighters.

but thats why you don't hear about police doing good jobs on the news because its their job and its expected of them.
