Nothing like getting a gift that's also practical....

In all honesty, since women are generally more picky with fashion items, best to actually bring her to Holt Renfrew/Leone/etc and let her pick out something she'll like (expensive).

The best day of my life was when I bought the regular a pink satin robe from La Senza. She loved it, and it made me so happy to have made her happy.

Find her favourite colour and get her something similar.

EVERY guy is gonna pull a tiffany's or spend a wad of cash on something that she can get herself (I'm assuming she's well off too). So get her something that rings true to her on a deeper level - like something that plays on an inside joke experience u too share. Do something different and if she doesn't like it cuz of the $$value, then that says something about her character and that maybe u shouldn't be dating her. It makes for a good way to see what she's made of...and u too. I mean, any guy can get her jewelry, right?

dude, i'd pay $700 just so i don't have to think. she's about as shallow as i am and i'm pretty sure that's why she spent so much.

i suppose, but i'm going to send a girl to tiffany's to go get the gift. i couldn't pick out jewelry to save my life.
mmmm tbh. I once bought a girl a big candy cane shaped container filled with skittles. She loved it. Sometimes its really not money, its thought.

.

I am just a sucker for things that I can actually. Jewelry just doesn't do it for me anymore. It was ruined by the guy that would buy jewelry to make up for not enough time spent.
so you see where i'm going with this

kidding. most of the girls around me are really good with my son and decent friends who, whether i've stuck it in them or not, deserve to be treated nicely. and i don't mind buying them stuff to show that appreciation, but in this case i find myself trying to play catch up. i wasn't expecting anything nor did i want her to think that she's "the one" right now. i'm casual dating at best since i can't commit due to time constraints or the fact that my son is my life.

I would have loved the Dyson Vacuum Cleaner. :p

Oh my god, I have a Dyson and I totally love it! Haha, this is my dorky moment...

Anyway-

I do think jewelry was a good pick over the handbag. I have absolutely no interest in handbags, so I don't agree that buying an expensive handbag is a safe bet when shopping for a woman...but a nice piece of jewelry is pretty much always appropriate. Even if she's not a big jewelry fan, it's nice to have something to wear to parties, special occasions, etc.

Until recently I didn't have any nice jewelry of my own, and always had to borrow a friend's when I was invited to a wedding, or a special event.

When it comes down to it, I would always go for a personal gift over an expensive gift, but since it sounds like you don't know her too well (yet) then this is probably a good bet :)

I totally agree with you here. Although, I cant imagine getting or giving something so expensive from someone that I really was not serious with.

I like the gifts where thought was put into it. No matter the price tag.
Something that would reflect on what that person personality or passions are.

For example. I love spiders. Anything that has to do with a spider..and I would flip over it. Or crystal jewelery. My tastes are simple. So if I received LV bag and a crystal spider necklace.....I would totally freak over the necklace. The bag??? It isnt me.
