Is anyone here actually dumb enough to take the ad at face value?

The courts in BC and in Canada don't give a shit about the male in paternity cases - the only question they will ask is "is the child conceived by you?". If yes, regardless of the circumstances, they will award child support.
I have a distant friend who donated sperm to a casual friend that he once had a one night stand with. She swore up and down she just wanted sperm from a donor she knew and she had no intent to go after child support or a further relationship, and so on.
Of course she later came after him for child support and got it. $2200 a month for the next 18 years.

The lawyer for my friend basically told him that there is no way whatsoever to avoid being ordered to pay child support if you give your sperm to anyone. There is no document that you could have made up that the courts in Canada will pay any attention to in a paternity case. They will ask one question and one question only "is the kid yours". If it is, you're paying.

Nope. It doesn't mean a damn thing if the courts say so. That's nothing, though, you should see what the courts can do to what once was a perfectly legal will. Fucked up doesn't even begin to describe it.dipitydoo said:

.jjinvan thanks for the little lesson on our legal system. In a convoluted way I sort of see it making sense, the fact that a mother cannot deny an unborn child his given right to child support.

The er .. solution to this is to sell her some sperm in a bottle. She can then use a turkey baster to impregnate herself. Make sure you wear a disguise when you go to see her. Get the money from her in cash and up front. DO NOT SCREW HER!!!

If you live common law with a woman (probably at least 2 years) you can be legally responsible for child support, even though the kids aren't biologically yours....
Besides,we all know now, that NOTHING is ever free..
