I know why you see it in poor taste. It is because you feel their is some racial stereotyping. I suppose it could have been more sensitive. But you must admit that it is rooted in some form of truth. Having said that, I just thought it was damn funny.Kev said:

I don't follow the norm in anything for a laugh at others expense. Perberts correct me but when i watch this video i see a man whos intent is killing others. Okay it didn't happen so lets laugh about it, (NOT) the intent is still there.
Through out the Middle East thats whats still occuring today. Americans, Israelis are dying because of these lunatics, and thats not funny. More importantly its not funny to all those who lost love ones in this situation and then tune in to local TV to see VW trying to cap a profit at their expense. The fact that Canadians aren't dying doesn't make it anymore tolerable or at least it shouldn't. Sorry guys this commercial is in very poor taste.
As a side note if you look at VW lineup we can see how desperate they are at selling cars. Sorry VW you suck at marketing and at product development.
Kev, I want to suggest something for you. The world does suck, people die who do not deserve to die because of suicide bombers, etc. There are several ways to respond to those these things. To list just a few: We can curl up into little balls and hide from the world. Or we can sit around and bitch about how bad things are. Or we can pick up a gun and try to stop the next terrorist before they act. Or we can sit around and talk philosophically about what events have transpired that has made the world the way it is (I have to admit, this is me). Or we can try to find a little humour in the midst of all the horror. You are right, suicide bombing is not funny, not at all. But the image presented in this commercial IS funny. This specific image IS funny. Here is an image of a suicide bomber who failed at his mission. The sad part is that most suicide bombers DO NOT fail. Real suicide bombers are sad figures because they are misguided. This guy is funny because he picked the wrong car! If we cannot laugh at the things that make us want to cry, we may have already lost our humanity.Kev said:

I think it is freakin hilarious and not at all about race it's about thinning the herd.....getting rid of all terrorists whether it's the McVey's of the world or the Bin Ladens......in a perfect situation it wouldn't be a VW it would be a big Boeing and we'd put them all on it and let them press a button day the flight attendant button....sadly one big Boeing wouldn't fit them all
