I just recieved the same virus; the name of the virus file is ......
W32.Mota.B@mm.............and yes it is a zip file ?????????
so any help would be appreciated thank you

Charlie, yes you have gotten yourself a virus. Do you own any virus software?
Lesley, did get the virus or just the email. If you just got the email, don't open it, just deleate it and you'll be safe.

Charlie, the emails you got from people saying you sent a zip file, where these people you knew or were in your contact list?
I opened it f*&%k,but my anti virus mcafee told me it was a virus and yes you are right it was also sent out to every one on my contact list!
Where do these viruses come from?
And why are they sent out as emails?*lol*i tried opening it cause it said here is a naked pic,so out of common couriousness that is why i tried to open it i was just wondering whom was naked??
now my high speed has now turned into low speed internet damnit! and i wish i knew whom the ignorant person is sending out these kinds of emails,because if this person was sending me a naked pic of himself,just do so without sending a virus attatched to it!

It was not that one person sending you an attachment with a virus. It probably came to you from someone who didn't even know they had a virus. Now that you have the virus, you are (without even knowing it) sending it to everyone on your contact list.
Never open an attachement if you are not expecting one from someone or if you don't know the sender.

Charlie, your gonna have to go and buy an anti-virus software program.

Your McAfee might not be enough to catch all of the nasties out there trying to screw up your computer. You should also think about something like Ad-Aware and an anti-spyware software like spybot or spyware doctor. There are quite a few discussions on Perb about spyware and viruses and what software work well. Lots of them are available free, although you need to pay if you want the full version and the updates, etc.
I thought my Norton anti-virus was doing a fine job until I ran Ad-aware and it found over 200 infections ... mostly relatively harmless spyware and tracking software ... but the things can really slow your system down.

Norton's and McAfee are anti-virus program and as such will protect you from viruses not spyware. Providing that you do your definition updates regularly. Each of these programs update their virus definition files once a week (Norton's is usually done every Thursday). Ad-Aware and Spybot are programs designed to catch spyware on your computer, they do not protect you from viruses. These programs also need to be updated weekly to be effective.
