Under the Canadian Criminal Code an escort/prostitute cannot defraud by email or directly steal your cash if the services delivered and agreed to by email or text are not delivered. Most men will not pursue legal recourse afraid of public exposure. If you do pursue legal remediation (a simple police report) you risk being fined for a minor misdemeanor for Soliciting a Prostitute – so I understand why more of us don’t do it. However, I took the plunge. Enough is enough. I filed a simple report without consequence. Theft under $5,000 will put her in front of a judge, under our legal rights. If she has no priors she will get off with repayment of the amount into the court.
