Is it me or does the idea of having the decimal point in gas prices seem like a waste of time? Does anyone actually care if the price is 116.5 or 116.7 cents per litre? Would you really cross the street to go to a different gas station for that .2 cent / litre difference in price? Don’t most gas stations at one intersection have the same prices anyways? Wouldn’t the gas companies be better off just posting 116 or 117 cents per litre or better yet $1.16 per litre? Pricing seems like a joke anyways when you consider that one day when you had half a tank of gas the price was 112.4 and the next day when you need to fill up the price is 116.6.
And what is the deal with that stupid 3.5 cents per litre off pricing? I can see when you offer that in conjunction with a loyalty program, but just to offer it cause the other guys do it is just annoying. If you’re going to sell your gas at 116.9, offer the 3.5 cent / litre discount don’t bother dicking around, just list your gas at 113.4!
Wheew, thanks for the rant!
