$1.22 a litre today for regular and $60 to fill the tank from a 1/4 full...brutal and I have a fuel thrifty 4 cyl sedan.

The SUV and truck crowd must really be feeling some pain at the pump.

I was chatting with the cashier at the Gas Bar using my ever present charm and savior faire and she said that "Gas and Dash" is on the rise...no surprise.

And the secret to success is to gas up when its super busy and pull in to the pump with your vehicle facing the gas bar office so the CCTV can't see your license plate for ID. Fill er up and drive away.

I' m in no way endorsing this of course because obviously like shoplifting the cost simply gets passed on the pump price for those who pay.

Just a sign of the coming end times prophesied in the Book of Revelations where one barrel of fuel will cost 200 shekels (dollars) as forecast by investment bank Goldman Sachs in the next 12 to 24 months!!! And a litre of gas will be $2.00

A lot of gas stations are following SP practice. Pay before you pump.
The shitty part is that cops will do very little about a gas and dash.
I remember when I was in Windsor, people used to scan their license plate and photoshop the numbers into something different. Then they would print it and place it over their own plate. The cameras couldn't tell the difference. And once they got far enough from the station, they would rip the paper plate off. It's crazy.

In BC, there's a new bylaw in place. You can't pump without paying. (Much like women...hehe) A gas attendent / cashier got ran over because he was trying to stop a "gas and dash". They named the law after him.

the money comes out of the attendant's pay if he doesn't get the plate number
that happened when I was in line once, the guy told me that basically his shift that day now is pretty much a waste

if you like ripping kids off who are trying to make an honest living, knock yourselves out

It is sad and sucks big time that missing money from cash and dashes comes out of their own pay check. Still knowing that most robbers commit crimes for drug money it is very stupid to run after them. Being without pay for a day is better then being dead or seriously hurt.

There must have been repercussions to the business where there was the fatality, wasn't it one of the big grocery stores, they are putting the attendant's life at risk with this policy.

Its actually a provincial law, you can not turn on the pump before you have paid in full for whatever amount you will be picking up. I filled up this week and it was almost $140. Fucking tragic, I wish bombing oil rich gulf countries worked :( Saudi Arabia exports close to 10 million barrels per day and has production capacity for another 2.5 mill

Report that company to the Employment Standards Branch. They'll be in big caca for charging their own employees for a robbery.
