Cars also get better mileage than when we were kids. I think minimum wage was $4.50 or $5.00 when I got my first job around 89 or 90.
I missed the lowest price ..So at $1.03 I payed 4 cents more a l. or 16 cents more a gal .. and at 80 L. I guess that is .......$3.40 to fill half a tank ... hmmmmm

So how much is alcohol ?The no consumable one .wood alcohol This new truck i was looking at can run on 85% ethanol
With gas at$139 , $158 if you use super .. and regular may go to $150.. It just may pay to go greeen

Yup,once the weather warms up,i'm tuning up my bicyle & riding to work.My car is cheap on gas(50 mi/gallon) but $1.50/l is just gouging in my mind,so big oil can shove it up there ass!
Isn't that the price you pay to look so tuff in your big bad truck? Keep in mind as with any gov subsidies, long term it's a losing proposition.
What subsidies are those? There are some basic extraction subsidies that go to producers, but I don't think the consumer is seeing any of that.
Ethanol is not a viable renewable fuel source as it takes more energy to produce than it creates. The only reason it's floating right now is because of gov funding propping corn up. In a unregulated free market with no monopoly it would never have gotten to this level of retardedness. However the alternative fuel source of the future will be NG or "eagle diesel" alot of big shippers already have their fleets converted and best of all ....... north america has the biggest nautural gas reserves.
when i was working in the us, i was amazed at pricing there... 4 gas stations, 1 at each corner of an intersection. their prices would vary by as much as $0.20 per gallon (gas was cheap then too). but folks were lining up at the expensive places too! go figure...

Okay, right. I have heard of the ethanol subsidies, but those accrue to producers, not consumers.
Yes which means that realistically it's not a viable source of energy if it can't stand on it's own feet.
They may not need the subsidy. They may just be getting that as an extra result from successful lobbying. Remember the tarsands started out subsidized, and today they pay for new plants out of current "earnings".
