Gas $1.04

So $1.04 for gas to day in Victoria .. It has to be the lowest in over a year..
What is going on, Gas has been bouncing up and down now for a few weeks from around $1.32 to $1.08 and now this low ..
It looks like some of it is to get shoppers out on week ends :confused: If that is the case then they definitely are showing that the price is just anarbitairing thing and has nothing to do with the price of oil.. Or is this just the calm before the storm when oild goes to $160 a barrel :doh:

Buying gas these days is like playing the stock market .. You see the price going down and you don;e want to buy too soon but id you wait to long your shit out of luck because it goes back up .. In this case I wish i had a 30,000 gals of the stuff at this price I know I could ONLY make like 30% in a a week on my money . Oh but hen the is storage fees and taxes...

Ok I I guess i just should be happy to have the savings on a half a tank of gas .

You can thank Libya for the scam earlier this year made the hugh spike in oil prices. Its still a scam really.

Can you say Costco, Victoria has always had higher gas prices until Costco put in pumps.

The best solution is to make a run across the line and fill up stateside...make a decent trip out of it and go to Bellingham for the day...load up on anything that is duty/GST/HST exempt butter/cheese/milk etc.....gas wise it really pays if you have a truck with a tidy tank in the back.

With the dollar at or near par it makes a huge difference.

Currently gas is $1.02 in Calgary...a total rip off considering we get the oil out of the ground as well as refine it here......should be more like .70 a litre.

Try having a diesel pickup the price for diesel is retarded it costs me about $160 for a tank and I fill up every day most of the time every second day at the latest. People wonder why prices for everything is going up well its because EVERYTHING in Canada is moved by things that run on diesel from the ships bringing stuff in from overseas ( Well they use fuel oil which is basically the same ) to the cranes that unload the ships to the trains that move them to the big rigs that haul it to the box trucks that take it to the stores and EVERY single time something goes to a new transport the price of diesel for hauling it is added in with a % added in for profit. So when an item gets to the store the price tag to get it to the store is going up and up and up and so the cost is added to the item and then you pay for it.

Whats really crazy is that diesel is like 30-40 cents a liter more then gas when basically diesel is the crap left over when you refine gasoline. Price of gas hurts but you can control it because you control how and where you drive but the price of everything in every store goes up when the price of diesel does so in the end you might save $10 off a tank of gas but you just spent $30 more to buy the things you normally buy to just live your life.

I think gas prices are higher in BC, partly because of higher fuel taxes including the carbon tax, but also because the oil companies know that they can get away with charging higher prices here given the social and political climate.

WEll gas prices did the weekly shuffle last week they had gone back up to $1.23 on Monday or Tuesday and last night , Sunday they were down to $1.05 again
Not sure what they are today ..But i have to fill up .. I think it is tied to the shopping and the amount of traveling people will do if gas is lower.. We never know what their thinking is when the srinks are being pulled on the economic ups and downs

I don't waste my time complaining about the price of gas, or trying to find a gas station with a lower price. Since the price of a liter of gas (a non-renewable resource) is less than that of a liter of bottled water (a renewable resource), we have no real reason to complain!

Didn't say you were. Just mentioned that minimum wage earners aren't likely to see SP, maybe once or twice a year or they live with their parents.

Still, most kids only make the minimum,i made it when i was living at home.Mind you back then it was only .27 cents/ litre & i was making $3.65/ hr at my 1st job,that's less than 10% of my hourly wage. Now it's an average of $1.15? not sure what the min. wage is now, but it's probably not $11.50?
