What about Ohlund ?

Word to the wise BJ, don't start off a sentence with "I don't want to sound racist...". Anything you say after that will sound racist. I wuold tend to disagree with you, and agree with inamato....whatever that guys name is. And what about Ohlund? I think he has been a top notch Swede for the 'Nucks.

As much as I hate to agree with a 'nucks fan, I think I agree with Inamorato. At the time, and in his prime Bure was underpaid at the time, the current CBA with salary cap and all makes a comparison a little more difficult of course.

Trade Bieksa!

I think it's time to trade the once "non touchable" for a power forward or better yet, package him & get Kovachuk. We have enough toughness in the line up & salary cap to up grade.:p
Bieksa is not the same player he once was, so don't blame it on age.:D

here you go, since you know he's coming here, can you also make him less brittle? lol

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2009/01/01/gaborik_rumours/

we don't want this garbage, over-rated soft European playing on a Canadian team already loaded w/ too many soft Europeans, though this 6" 5' Sundin rental centre is one exception.

But knowing this Nucks' exceptional management talent of overpaying, ie. Sundin, Messier, Bure, yet not willing to pay Anson Carter, who was the only player that could play w/ the Sedin sissies, and 32 goals to prove that, or not willing to pay Jovonoski, who'd I rather have any day over injury-prone Salo & Bieksa, i wont be surprised if the Nucks do get Gaborik.

Besides, like Cantthink_at_all said, we're supposed to know that he's coming here b/c him & Demitra are good friends.
How can anyone take your opinion on hockey gossip seriously? Didn't you say you don't watch the Hotstove every week?

Also what an idiotic comment! Yeah overpaying for Messier and Sundin are related, because SO MANY members of the Canucks brass were the same for these two signings right? Or I guess there's something magical in Vancouver that makes the franchise overpay? :')

Here's the beautiful thing about this Canucklehead city, there's lots of selective memory!

Back in the day when Bure signed for his $5.5 mill, some in the city was trashing it for how he's only a 1 dimensional player, which I'm ok with, there's specialization needed everywhere in life; even a great cocksucker. (not to mention how he loved to suck Messier's cock, lol). he's a goal scorer, fine, any top notch goal-scorer will get his $$$.

But his whole approach, his attitude, his selfishness, he ain't no Linden for sure when it comes to community involvement. He made it clear that he was in for the $$$.

And him blackmailing us during the playoffs, how convenient for you guys to forget about him.

Sure, I'm rascist against European players for the most part. Give me a good reason to cheer for them, other than Lidstrom & Holmstrom, who really do compete for the stanley cup. the rest, they're only in it for the $$$, don't kid yourselves.

And I truly believe Linden would trade 5 yrs just for that cup in 94, any true Canadian kid will do that!

Those are valid points, and I have not forgotten about those incidents. Bure is a Douche, nobody is debating that.

What we are debating is your statement that he was overpaid, which was factually incorrect...

Since you're pretty darn good at finding those videos, you've got plenty of time on your hands, why don't you find out that salaries during Bure's era? I assure you that he was not overwhelmingly supported with his contract here.

If even the hometown didn't like him, and felt he was overpaid, then what gives???? Scoring lots of goals in the regular season, and one magical '94 playoff run, and actually 2 decent playoff stats, and hometown still didn't love this guy compared to Linden, Naslund, etc.

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=662

I'm sure not making this up.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but I know you get a hard-on when you do, but isn't this the player that then-GM Burke vowed to drive him to the airport after buying a real good TV, in anticipating of having to sit Bure out for a long time?

So if that's the case, then he wasn't worth the $$$ for the Nucks to pay him. He must be asking too much. Doesn't that imply somewhat 'overpaid'?

Again, my point of Bure being overpaid is still my religious belief.

Inamorato, you still lose. You haven't changed my mind one bit, and I don't care if you love Bure or Bieksa, lol.

No doubts whatsoever that Gaborik's got the talent, but I wouldn't sign him on my team, that's for damned sure - he's on the injured reserve longer than he actually plays, from what I've seen of him...
