That's a warning sign right there. They're charging you for credit to buy their merchandise.
I wouldn't pay any retail establishment an annual fee for credit just on principle.
Exactly, and rather than carry the balance on the credit card, pay it off using you line of credit (assuming you do not pay it off with cash on hand) cuz the interest on a line of credit is even lower than a credit card.peety said:dump it onto the ole trusty-air miles or dividend visa.
and that goes for other stores too, like costco you pay membership to shop there. no thanks I can spend money at places that dont charge to shop.dexi said:Future Shop charges $25/year?

I have one and the only time they charge you a service fee on a purchase, is if your "interest-free period" purchase exceeds six months (6 = $39.95, 12=$59.95, 24=$99.95). If you pay inside these periods, it amounts to very cheap credit. I bought a fridge at $1299 and the promo period was 3 months. No charges. Afterwards, if you don't plan to use it again, I think you should cancel it, as the Cardholder Agreement states they can apply service fees anytime they feel like it. Future Shop's credit program is run by Wells Fargo Finance.hitrack said:Was thinking about signing up for one of these as the store has some shit going on right now for no payments, or interest for 12 mos.
Other than $25 annual feedoes anyone have any horror stories or reasons why this is a gay idea??
