Adrian Fucking Dix - they fucking deserve to lose the next electtion. Farnworth had a chance to dislodge Crusty. Going retro with a far lefty dooms them yet again.

Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Wasn't Dix the one considered the most furthest to the left than any of the other candidates?

adrian dix will surprise you....he's intelligent, pragmatic, and is feisty. He can take on the Clark and the Fiberals and win. But most of the media will unfortunately paint him as far left. I just ask that we listen to his policies then decide for yourself.

I don't like either party...
However, if the Liberals get in...I fear everyone working in the private sector who is an employee, will be earning $10 to 12 an hour...

Vancouver right now is a city of Bullshit govt and city workers, service jobs (crap), and little shitty businesses...and yes, this includes SP's...

Well it's good to know that you haven't a freakin clue of what you are talking about before you post to threads.

Hope you don't plan on voting.

That's all we need is ill informed people who pretend to know what's going on, deciding our elections.

O.K. I'll give you that, but he's also the guy doctored internal memos to try to protect Glen Clark. Do we really need somebody that is already a "proven crook" as it were ?

The Liberals are doing handstands and most likely threw a giant party after Dix was elected as the leader of the NDP. Poll after poll showed that Dix was not well-liked by the general public and had Clark as a 19% favourite over Dix. The potential leader that had the best chance of unseating Clark was Farnsworth but with Dix winning it looks like an early election in BC and continuing troubles for the NDP as they have just slipped farther to the left. Look for some serious policy changes that will please the labour component and socialists in the party but alienate the centre-left voters and make them hold their noses and vote Liberal or look for alternatives such as staying away from the polls.

Debates before the next election could be interesting and the public will have to decide who is dirtier of the two parties.

Christy and her involvement in the BCR scandal (Police raid on her house).

Dix and his involvement in the Glenn Clark debacles.

I think voting for Dix as NDP leader has severely hampered the chances of a win. The province/economy suffered enough under Clark's rule and there's a cloud still over Dix's head from those times. The province doesn't need another ridiculous fast ferry program. However, Dix will make an excellent opposition leader and critic.....

What could make things really interesting is the BC Conservative party coming up the middle, so to speak. How much would their vote splitting affect the outcome of the election?

But don't you think there are a lot of grassroots conservative people that might think the BC Liberal party is now too Liberal? Under Gordon Campbell they were a somewhat right wing party, but with Christy Clark they have certainly moved more to the centre. Could the NDP win a few seats to vote splitting? Possibly enough to form government?
I'll be honest about my position - there is no way in hell I would want the NDP to win. I might have to vote Liberal to avoid splitting the vote, even if that's not who I decide I want to vote for.

She is trying to be perceived as more "centrist," but it is cosmetic only. There will be no serious changes in policy. Campbell was never "right wing" in a social policy way that satisfied the loony fundamentist types, only in a way that satisfied his corporate supporters. Unless she screws up in some major way, she will siphon enough votes from the middle to offset any challenge from the Conservative party, and as Al points out, she will maintain the backing of the corporate media.

There is always the chance, of course, that Dix could perform supremely well in public and garner a wave of support before an election is called, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Mike Smyth of the Province paper editorialized that Dix is from the far left, which I think is code for something else. He may have received support from some unions that Smyth doesn't like, or maybe he just doesn't like a bilingual intellectual in a leadership position in BC provincial politics.

It makes me laugh when I hear people ranting on and on about how Glen Clark wrecked BC's economy. This is the guy now being paid millions by Pattison, to do what? Wreck Jimmy's empire? It's such a god damned joke, yet it keeps getting passed of as the truth, helping to give additional meaning to the word "provincial" in the phrase "provincial politics". I have been around long enough to learn that in BC what's passed off to voters as some huge philosophical difference is invariably some petty personality clash.

Adrian dix is near communist - Same as Glen Clark. His philosophy is business is bad, government is good, and union is good. He doesn't realize everyone's payday originates from business and gets consumed by unions and government. Glen Clark, just from his words, kicked out hundreds of businesses from BC including Finning. Finning, on its own, was paying tens of millions in corporate taxes each year - all gone for good thanks to Glen Clark. Adrian isn't intelligent - he markets to the stupid
