From pet to pig!

Oh. My. God.

I awoke this morning to the delightful sounds of snuffling and OINKING. I rubbed my blurry eyes, and looked around 1/2 expecting to find myself still in a dream as I clearly heard a sound that I can only imagine coming for a pig, and as I don't have one, clearly I must still be dreaming.

Nope.

I have a cute little fuzzy beastie that is far far from a pig (please do not chime in with what type of pet I have). It seems my cute lil critter has a cold or allergies and was munching on a found treat that had been missed yesturday. Due to the sniffles, eating and breathing seem lead to oiking!

I was worried that a trip to the vet might be in order but my lil critter seems quite happy and was running around as usual, snorting away and periodically sneezing.

Very cute. But I won't be getting a potbellied pig anytime soon.

I have a good one for you too.. I came home late one night, went to my room, got in bed, turned my off my lamp.. noticed one of my little beasts that had just come into my room.. called him to my bed and he barked and this is not a dog !!!! I was in shocked I jumped up out of bed... picked him up and he did it again.. I thought that it might have been a hairball or something. So I figured that it would just pass, and it did like three or four days later.. but for a few days there I was kinda concerned... but he seemed fine and besides the barking he wasnt doing anything esle that was odd.. my guess is that he got a cold or something.. Im still not sure to this day what made him bark

Tianna maybe your pet had croop!

I have heard children with croop and they sound like seals barking when they cough. Your critter may have had an animal form of croop.

I know what pet you have and if it doesn't get better soon take it to the vet.

And JJ... fear not. I know the drill. When I took my 1st pet (she had to be put down later, for different reasons )in when she was making the same oiking noises, I was told it's a very very rare and hard to treat condition... it's called the sniffles. But don't worry. If he gets worse of doesn't get better in a day or two I will take him in. I'm not too worried as he's full of bugs and bananas and has been running around and eating like a little piggy. When he doesn't feel well normally he gets pretty lethargic and doesn't eat.

Maybe he snuffled something up his nose

There is only ONE vet in the lower mainland who I'd trust with that particular pet (there's a second one a bit further away too).

I know her, she's my pet's vet. I used to work for a shelter that only dealt with little fuzzies like mine.
