It came up in the post about "Buffalo Bill" and his crazy antics, and I thought hey, since I teach military hand to hand combat, as well as a bunch of other self defence and martial arts styles, I would be happy to volunteer my time to any SP's who might want a few pointers.

A few points:
1)This is VERY realistic, and easy to use.
2) I am not a freak, nor do I expect anything..just trying to help
3) Would prefer to train a few people at a time, as I am offering for free....let me know if you are interested....

4) and "Bill", if you are listening, I won't train you....but you better watch yourself

Hey
Since your profile says "Vancouver bred", and our nearest military base is CFC Chilliwack, exactly what "military hand to hand" are you teaching?

Multi Tactic

Good question - its a mixture of styles from an Israeli system called Krav Maga, Brazilian Juijitsu, and combat Taekwondo. All the traditional stuff is weeded out, and all the practical street stuff is left in. Its based on realistic situations, and is based on the most primitive responses to fear. It is a system used for training police agencies and armies world wide. I personally travel and train various agencies - not specifically the Canadian Forces, although I have done special work with some CF Sniper squads.

Nope

Oh No, I was willing to offer several. You will be dangerous after about 4. But its turning out to be very hard to get 1 going. It looks like Wednesday at around 6pm, but I still haven't confirmed if I can get some space at the Community Center.

I will let everyone know.

yes

Just PM me Lenny, I am sure we could work something out. Right now training venues seem to be the hard part. I think I am going to suggest waiting until the weather is better, and holding them on the beach...but if you have a place (your place is fine), and want to train - I will happily do some privates.

PM me

Maybe waiting a few weeks for warmer weather on the beach
& doing the group thing is the best idea, if we can get a group
together that is interested in a group rate {aside from the non-
paying SP group}. Any idea on rates for a group of 3, 5 or 10?

Hi Lenny

Thanks for getting back to me...it is turning out to be a huge hastle finding a venue, so yes, I would say that some time on the beach would be a great way to do it. Weather dependent of course.

As for a charge for a small group...I would say $100 per hour. Thats for up to 10 people. The private instruction we do at the club is $50 per person, so if you tin you can get 10 people I think $100 is fair. Conversely, if it turns out to be just 2 of you, then lets say this $40 per hour for 2 people, with each additional being $15. Best time is about 1.5 to 2 hours. 1 hour sessions are a bit rushed. 2 hour sessions are a bit long.

let me know what you think...it was 17 degrees outside, and this weather is supposed to hold for another week, so I could always do an out door session sometime this weekend.

That goes for any SP's who want some free training...on the beach sometime this weekend.

Good for you Scuba

Hey Scuba,

Good on you for offering this for the SP's. Just reading the stuff in 'Neighbourhood Watch' makes me realize how many serious idiots there are out there. Being a guy who is 6' and 190 lbs I don't think about that stuff, but for a woman being potentially exposed to idiots out there, hopefully this will help.
