The cab driver is only asking for 60k total in damages? He should asking 60k from each of those "female dogs".

Wow, This is Harsh. Wonder how often this actually happens. The Judge should set an example with these girls. IF i understand correctly, they didn't even pay the fair. So whats up with that? On top of it all they accuse him of doing something that never remotely even came close to happening. This is crazy.

What kind of person is that desperate for attention that they need to stoop that low. Thats disgusting.
Girls like that make it harder for the girls that ACTUALLY have the burden of having it happen have people believe them.
To top it all off the justice system for people who really did get raped is a joke anyways it just enables the system to not take it seriously.

My 2 Cents

According to the article, he seeks about $240,000 in damages from the four girls ($60,000 each).

The first thing would be to issue a $500 fine for smoking ~ pretty clear cut case. There is a better use of the court system but the guy was left without many options. Hopefully ~ there will be a public apology and some form of retribution like an offer to donate to a charity. All he was looking for was some accountability from the drunk beyotches.

I wonder how helpfull the cops where to mr. cabbie. I mean they didn't want to change anyone, but I would have told the girls, you own the man for the ride.... (although the cops are not judges, I am pretty sure the girls didn't realize they were being filmed.... ) I wonder if the cabbie was able to get the girls info, so he can sue.

I am telling you, guys selling in the camera recording equipment have a healthy future ahead... These things don't cost much these days, and you can hide them anywhere!!!!!! now they can make them so small, and wireless etc etc.... Big brother is watching you! ..... now in HD!

Did you watch the video ??

There was signage in a number of places inside the cab that said ' they were being videotaped ' .

He is suing the girls so he must have their information. He did take them to an address after all and the police did attend.

The cabbie has every right to sue . Just imagine the impact on the cabbie's life had charges been laid against this man. Yikes !

I did see it, what's your point? did you read the article? 4 drunk 19 girls.. you think they were reading the signs?

Doesn't mean he took them to thier home address, I have taken a cab from a bar to a restaurant before... Anyway, just saying the cops may not be very helpfull in giving out that information to just wanyone, esp a pissed off cabbie, asking for four 19 years old, and female info..... he maybe had to get help to get it.

I am having trouble deciding how honest the driver is. yes if the girls claimed sexual abuse they should get in trouble, 100%, no question that was wrong. But here the driver was given the cab fare, and wanted or tried to return it the next day, this was so he could sue? WTF. He can't make a claim they did not pay anymore. And he mentioned he wants to teach them a lesson.... Not sure how a judge would digest that remark. When you go to court you can't get compensated for something that could have happen. 100% he can sue for what happen so far, or as a result of, but he will not get much money for what could have happen.

Just remember in something like this, there is more than 1 side to the story. unfortunatly I think this probably happens more often, but it does not make the news..... Most people would be happy they are not out any money, and leave it at that, and very few people would know. I wonder how the news came to find out about this..... anyway I wish him luck, not that he doesn't deserive some compensation, a public apology, maybe a fine would be more of a lessen to the girls if that is really want he wants. Lets see what the judge says...

They should have been charged criminally for making a false report. It's because of bitches like them that innocent men have their lives ruined, and real victims of sexual assault have a harder time getting justice. Send them to jail.

got my vote. I know of one guy whose life was ruined thanks to a girl claiming rape. His whole family got trashed and shunned in our small town. The rape was eventually dropped 6 months later after it went to court and the girl confessed to making it up to cover her ass. Friend and family was still ruined and lives were changed drastically. The girl got off scot free.

your mom says hi.
the cabbies i've talked to have said that this sort of thing happens fairly often. which is why some cabbies have refused fairs to women at times.

these girls are 19 years old and it sounds like they need a dose of reality.

add to this, "not enough evidence"??????? the guy has a fucking tape! how much evidence do the cops need to actually do police work?

I am assuming the cops had all the contact information when they filed the rape accusation and he is entitled to know as well. I guess all they wanted to do was to collect the fare from the girls and hope it would all go away by passing it onto the cabbie. Makes for less paperwork and more time for donairs and donuts. Also ~ if you were a cop ~ it does not take Sherlock Homes to realize the following: one guy versus 4 girls, cabbie actually having the courtesy to drive them to their destination, no signs of any physical struggle like scratch marks on their arms/CSI evidence under the finger nails and the cabbie not having any signs of the girls fighting back/spit/ripped clothes/etc. . . .

I do not recall reading as to whether the cops asked the girls to apologize (in front of everyone ~ especially the bystanders who were willing to beat the crap out of the cabbie) and for that matter ~ whether the girls actually made any effort on their own to apologize.

The cry wolf thing makes it especially bad for those who are actually raped and had it not been for the video - the guys life would have been ruined and was close to being treated like Rodney King by an angry mob. I hope he is not doing it for just the money ~ it should be more about the principle of being held accountable for being drunken liars. Being drunk is no excuse as they were sober enough to come up with that BS accusation.

wow, who the fuck does that?? stupid fucking girls...this is why it's so hard for women who actually GET assaulted to get any real justice! i dont get how these women can take something like rape so lightly, as to just throw it around like that. it's sad when women seem to use that as their "trump card" against guys, to accuse them of rape or whatever. that shit can really ruin a guy's life, even after the girl admits she was lying people still treat the guy like a rapist. and when women really do get raped they have to jump through hoops to prove it because it's so common that stupid twats like this lie  ugh

This story doesn't make sense. The police only make arrests, the Crown or D.A. decides whether or not to formally lay charges or not. With his evidence, the driver still can make a citizens arrest, which would lead to charges being laid or not.

While you are technically correct that police only make arrests, they do so based on violations of law. Making a false criminal charge against another person is a violation of the law.

The decision then rests with crown counsel as to whether the case will proceed. DA is an American term.

These four need to have their asses sued off and then taken out and Bitch Slapped until they smarten up. Maybe have their pictures published with an article about stupid and insensitive they really are. Spoiled little rich bitches? Like Crystal said - it ruins it for women that are really raped and then not believed. And speaking of real rapists . . . where do I begin on their punishments.
