About 11600 years ago the ocean boundary on all the continents were approximately 100 lower than it is today. So that means in the last 11600 years the oceans have risen 100 ft. Most of that came from the northern hemisphere after the last great ice age which covered NA down past the Canadian Border into the US. Scientist have said these big glaciers over the NA continent were miles high. Same as in Europe.
So now people are diving off coast of continents and finding ancient man made ruins.....
Historians are slowly rewritting the histories as more evidence comes to light. Prime example is how Egyptologists rely on an 1800's time line on the pharaohs based on the bible.
The only records (and not really records) are the oral traditions of tribes throughout the world that have a tradition of a great flood.
The thing is stuff changes... the pendulum changes....Check out Bill Nye on Netflix, challenging the bible version of creation vs. evolution. It is very disturbing that kids are not being taught evolution in schools. Instead they are taught about God's wrath and that he drowned all the wicked people and saved Noah and his family, and that all people today are descended from Noah. Its a nice story from the bible, but it's horseshit.
I'm not a communist (comrade), and the Kool Aid comes from Jones Town and it only took 1 glass then for the multitude to commit mass suicide. I'm not a socialist, but do agree with looking after fellow humans when they are in need.
Life on this planet could end tomorrow from a variety of causes, asteroid, plaque, atomic war or some other way. The slow poisoning of the atmosphere by man made CO2 is happening. But is way too important for lesser humans to care about it, as it would interfere with the quality of life they have. The freedom to drive anywhere. The warmth in your house during a cold winter. Life's little comfortable possessions all have a carbon footprint.
Take a look at what resources it takes to run a civilization. It all used to be man-powered by people (Empires only existed because they had slaves and peasants), then is was cattle, then horse, and in the 18 century machines started to replace the animals. Today our civilization runs on machines powered by fossil fuels.
Part of civilization is how much resources we use up, there is no where on this earth we haven't been and where we go, we reap disaster on the natural world. The Polynesians had codes for how to run their lives, separation of women and men, to prevent overpopulation, when to hunt and fish, what they could take when hunting and fishing, all to sustain the environment. Modern Man just takes and takes, and dosen't give back to nature. Modern man thinks his technology will prevent that collapse.

Your 97% and 3 %, (for your 0.04% CO2) you still have to site a scientific paper or reference in this thread.
As for your garage, if you do leave a engine running in it, it will burn all the oxygen into CO2. It just a matter of time. So the 21% oxygen in the air will turn into water and CO2. Then the engine stops because of the lack of oxygen, combustion doesn't happen any more....
At no point in time while the engine is running (burning oxygen), will the air actually maintain your 0.04% CO2, the amount of CO2 will only get larger as the oxygen (O2) is transformed to other chemicals (H2O and CO2). The oxygen in the earths atmosphere is limited, we as humans need it to survive (breath). Without it we die.
Since we all know that burning a fossil fuel produces CO2. What else in nature produces CO2? animals?
I can only surmise that burning of fossil fuels increases the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. The graphs show a hockey stick rise in the 19 and 20th century, where man is burning fossil fuels.... it increases from a average of 270 ppm in the early 1800's to 370 ppm in 2000. Thats over 25% increase since the early 1800 in CO2 emissions that the natural world (plants) have not turned back into oxygen....(oh forgot we are cutting those trees and plants down, so they will be less effective as converters). So now we are cutting forests down at a unprecedented rate; and nobody has figured out how to make a better converter than a mature tree (which are getting cut down and takes 50-70 years to mature)...
As for Drinking Kool-Aid, it has sugar in it, which is a toxic substance... watch the doc on Netflix..... Again the money and greed wins out over the health of the people.....
Just like the oil companies are confusing all the climate change. Trump doesn't believe in climate change, so what is he doing, shutting down the research being done on it.....His ideal to burn more coal.... great...
