Well, me and a buddy went trout fishing this morning and the fishing was great! Got our limit in no time and caught and released a few more before we left. Brought home four nice 4 pounders and got one just over 10 pounds we let go. The weather was nice, no wind to speak of, all in all a good day. Anybody else been doing any ice fishing?

Fishing throught the ice??? Can you explain this concept to me BBS, including this "ice" stuff you are referring to? Just kidding, couldn't resist, I have seen it on National Geographic before and it looks like fun. You could hot box those little shacks pretty easily eh?
Being that I'm not really a winter person, I never got the whole ice fishing thing either. I used to be a 'fly girl', but since fish are now my pets...not so much.

Too bad, it must have been a blast. Haven't been out yet this year, and never fished for 'bows outside B.C., but may make it a point on one of my Alberta trips this spring or fall. Also never ice fished, tube or boat only, on the fly, c&r only. Man, I'm envious....
Yes, it definitely was a blast. Usually I stick to walleye fishing, but thought I'd try trout this time. Glad I went too. Never been rainbow trout fishing either, just lake trout or splake. Hope to get out fishing again on Friday as long as the weather stays as warm as it has been.The Lizard King said:
